Consider the case where you have several items that are too nice to keep in storage, and need to be placed in a highly visible area. Start with decorative shelving. If you build it yourself, you'll need to have the right parts and tools. You need to at least have a drill, tape measure, handsaw, pencil, and level. Shelving should be located in a place that is out of normal traffic areas so that it doesn't get dislodged easily.



Draw out your location ahead of time, and be sure to measure it accurately.

Having finished all of that, all that's left to do is locate the wall studs and install the brackets to them ensuring they're solid.
