One great thing about joining the DirecTV family of TV viewers is that they give you a complete top of the line Hughes satellite system absolute free of charge to watch the programming you are going to receive with. Hughes is not cheap off brand equipment either and you will quickly realize this when you first lay your eyes on this top of the line system with its well designed, solid and heavy, low profile receiver that is just loaded with easy to use, one touch features.

The Hughes Executive DVR receiver is a great unit and you can even get it with DVR Powered by TiVo and that is the option that has the instant slow motion replay feature and the ability to zip right past annoying commercials that always come on just when the game is getting exciting.

TiVo has also completely eliminated one track and field event known as the bathroom-dash, because people who used to do it can now stop any program or event, live or pre recorded and casually walk to the bathroom and then restart the TV right where the game or program left off when they return.

With all the fantastic common sense features that are loaded into this unit, you just won't be able to put the remote down when you are watching all your favorite programming on DirecTV. If the phone rings, with the touch of a button you get caller ID instantly displayed on the TV screen, so you can then decide if the call is worth interrupting your programming for.

If it is, TiVo lets you pause it to take the call and you don't miss a second of what you are watching. The custom menu feature allows you to set up your own custom menu of just your favorite channels that you can refer to first to see if there is something there that interests you before you refer to the main menu with a lot more selections that takes far more time to go through. It makes selecting a program that you like far faster and easier especially if you have a larger programming package, such as the two-hundred and eighty-one channel Americas Everything package.

The instant programming search function is used to find any type of programming or movie by simply entering it in by its name, or even the name of an actor in the movie, if it is a movie you are looking for. With the click of a button it instantly appears on the screen with all the relevant information you will need on it including the date and time it is playing and some brief information on the story line or the content of the programming.

With the simple click of the recording button it is set to record and be stored in the DVRs memory that holds a full one-hundred hours of your recordings in it. You just set it and forget it and you don't even have to do another thing and in fact it will record the program or movie even if you are watching another channel when it does come on.
