A wave has been building momentum for several years now.  It has been gaining popularity and support every day, and has no signs of slowing down.  That wave is DirecTV and it is rolling over the competition in the field of entertainment television providers.  Many people that are looking to change or upgrade their home entertainment are switching over to DirecTV because of the attractive start-up packages and high quality of satellite television programming they offer.  In fact, the overall benefits of satellite television have cable providers worried.

The Benefits Of Satellite Television

There are several reasons people are opting for satellite.  Cable providers used to have the advantage of being the only one to offer local channels.  Not anymore, though.  DirecTV now offers local channels in addition to over 250 other channels and programming.  For people living in areas that are susceptible to extreme weather, choosing satellite can help keep them safe.  When this extreme weather knocks out the power the cable TV service is also usually knocked out because it relies on the power grid to operate.  Electricity can be out for days or even weeks until the power company can repair it.  However, satellite service only needs an unobstructed view of the Southern sky to receive a signal, so hooking up to a generator will power your dish and bring valuable weather and safety information from local channels.  Internet access has also become an alluring factor.  Many people living in rural areas do not have access to high-speed Internet that is available through cable providers.  They are stuck with slow dial-up service, but can finally experience the Internet at its intended faster pace with DirecTV’s high-speed satelite capabilities.  Another reason people are choosing to sign up with Direct TV over cable providers is the enticing start-up package they are giving new customers.

An Offer That Is Hard To Refuse

Everyone likes something that is free.  Direct TV knows this and is giving a lot more away than just one free thing to new customers.  Besides having no start-up costs, when you sign up you get all the necessary equipment including your satelite dish and receiver for free.  You also get this equipment installed by professional technicians for free.  Maybe you would like to have a four-room system installed so you can watch four different shows in four different room of your home.  It’s free to have that installed, also.  The free offers for new customers don’t end there.

The Future Of Television Is Here…  For Free!

Direct TV also gives you a free upgrade of a state-of-the-art DVR or HD receiver.  A DVR, or Digital Video Recorder, gives you the ability to record and store up to 100 hours of your favorite shows.  You can even record two shows at once as well as pause and rewind live TV programs that you are watching.  If you have purchase a High Definition (HD) television, then the free HD receiver may be more up your alley.  From movies to sports to family programming, Direct TV’s High Definition programming is a great match for anyone that has bought or is going to buy a HD Television.  For those that want the capabilities of both DVR and HD, you are in luck.  A HD DVR combination receiver that has an additional 66% of high-definition storage is now being offered.

A Final Reason To Choose

When Direct TV gets a higher customer satisfaction rating for six years running, then you know they are meeting the expectations of those that matter most; the customer.  If so many other people are happy with the quality of satelite programming and service, it has to make one wonder why they would be any different.
