Everyone has a favorite food or foods that they can never get enough of. Many people aren't too particular and they are willing to eat just about anything as long is it cooked and seasoned properly. There are some people who are finicky eaters and refuse to eat many of the foods that their friends and family members commonly eat. Others tend to tease the picky eater for disliking popular foods like pizza, chicken, steak, seafood and numerous desserts, among other foods. It may be really difficult to agree on what type of restaurant to eat at when dining out with a picker eater. There may not be many foods on any menu that the fussy eater would be interested in eating, so the friend or family would most likely have to make a sacrifice in order to please the picky person.



Most picky eaters are children who haven't yet acquired a taste for certain foods, but not all of them are. There are several other reasons why a person may dislike certain foods. One reason is that they may be used to eating only limited types of foods, due to lack of availability caused by poverty, so when they sample a food that they aren't used to eating, they sometimes dislike the flavor. Perhaps if the picky eater were to try the foods that they aren't used to they would realize that the food or foods is actually quite delectable.

Another reason why a person may dislike certain foods is not because they don't exactly like the food, but they may be allergic or sensitive to it. They could even love the particular food but be forced to avoid it because of the allergy.

Some finicky eaters may only eat whole foods, cold-pressed oils, lean meats, and organic fruits and vegetables. They may actually enjoy eating the foods that they avoid, but choose to eat the healthier foods because they're concerned about their health. Foods like pizza, fried chicken and sugary desserts aren't healthy whatsoever. So people who choose to eat the healthy foods over the greasy and sugar-laden ones are actually doing themselves and their bodies a favor.

It may be in a picky eater's best interest to freshly prepare all of their own food to ensure that they are getting enjoyment out to their meals. They can take lunches to work instead of eating in cafeterias or restaurants, too.
