Human beings are creatures of habit. We like to follow the crowd. We don't want to be first in case we make fools of ourselves in front of our friends. We like life to be safe and we choose to stay in our comfort zone. And so another year slips by and we're doing pretty much what we were doing the previous year.



As they say if you do what you've always done you'll get what you've always got.

When we read about the latest big thing - we realise that it is already the year after it all happened. What were we doing? Why didn't anyone tell us about it? Where were we?

Well maybe you just weren't listening or looking in the right place at the right time.

You have to keep your ear to the ground and your nose in the chatrooms and forums in order to see what is going on and then when you see it you have to do various things. You have to recognise whether it is a money-making business opportunity or whether it is a scam.

Is there a real product that people actually want or is there only a load of hype? (Now of course there is always hype - how else would anything get heard? You need to look through and past the hype to find the substance - and if there isn't any then move on).

So... if it's more than just hype, and there is a real business opportunity, what do you do next? Well that's exactly the answer you need to DO something. Take action. Massive action.

In fact all out massive action.

It is only by taking action, based upon your conviction of the value and substance of the product that you can change the direction of your life.

There's a catch of course - this means stepping out of your comfort zone. Your friends may well make comment about it. They will do this because they have not done the research that you've done and won't want to believe that you've found something that they haven't.

They might even want you to fail - so that they can be proved right that doing the easy thing - the same thing as last year - was the right thing to do.

But it is the person that recognises a new opportunity and takes hold of it - the person who takes action - that can capitalise on the so-called first mover advantage.

If you're first to market then you are in an incredibly strong position, and this is true of virtually all business models. Some of course are structured so that you can really make a lot of passive income by getting in there first and others work for you.

So if you want to work at home or make money online, then get your nose into those forums and get on some email lists. When the next opportunity comes along you will be primed and ready to take hold of the opportunity and capitalise on your first mover advantage.

Then everyone else will catch up with the latest big thing - next year! You on the other hand will have stepped out of your comfort zone, grown in stature and be counting the profits.
