Employees will work much better with a leader that isn't afraid to work with them, instead of just telling them what to do. Leaders like this will make their people want to follow them and please them with their accomplishments. Whether it means staying a little late or making an important sales call on a Saturday, they'll do what it takes to be successful and keep the business successful.

Often if an employee has been the sales leader for so long; they take their job for granted. Perhaps, it's time for a new sales leader. Sometimes a change in leadership is all it takes for the team to get their old passion back.

• Have regular staff meetings to stay on top of things

• Give incentives for top sales
