Having a system to work with is key to being able to achieve what you want in a consistent way. If you think about it, every time you get in your car to drive somewhere, you follow the same system, the same procedure. When you're first learning how to drive, you're not sure what to do when, but with practice, you figure that out. Once you develop a system, you're guaranteed to get the results you want every time. You see this in professional athletes ? they have a system, a standard operating procedure that takes the guesswork out of their actions. Do the same thing in the same way, and you'll get the same results.

This principle can work for you or against you. Think about it ? the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over, but expecting different results. Most people consistently experience failure in achieving their goals because they go about them in the same, ineffective way every time. We're great about following systems ? it's like running on tracks. The key is finding a system that's actually effective, that brings about the outcome we want, locking into it, and going forward.

Here's how ?Think it'Do it?Did it?Done!?? works:

Think it ? First things first. Think about and confirm what you truly want to achieve. It can be yours. You can make it happen. You start by creating SMART goals that are valuable to you. You set short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals. You map out your path from where you are to the fulfillment of your ultimate goals.

Do it ? Set a course for achieving your intended outcome. Using a solid goal achievement system, you discover and utilize the most valuable tool for managing and tracking your goals. I've built a system of accountability that keeps your goals in front of your eyes. You know exactly where you are, and what you need to do next. You develop action steps to take you where you want to go, deciding what you'll do, when you'll do it, and how you'll do it.

Did it ? Master the skills for accelerated results. Bring your goals to fruition. Maintain organization. Be on top of every facet of the goal achieving process. After you achieve your short-term goals, you've got a proven record which will help you tackle your mid-term goals, and finally reach for and accomplish your long-term goals. You go after each level of goals in the same, systematized way.

Done! ? Done deal! You've succeeded. On to bigger and better goals. Carry those newfound goal-achieving skills forward. Watch your life change. Consistently achieve your most deeply-desired goals. You've now got the road-map ? A GPS (Goal Positioning System?) to follow for achieving anything you want. You apply this same system to any goal, and know how to bring about your success.

The right system of moving your goals from your head to your calendar will shave years off of your timetable. It will give your goals teeth, so you'll see results; it'll give your goals feet, so you'll move forward quickly. You get to choose whether your goals will take a year or a decade to achieve.

The best advice on goals that's out there says you should write your goals on paper, plan how you'll achieve them, and work them and review them every day. The most outrageously successful people have one thing in common ? they are completely goal-driven. They know exactly what they want, have a plan to get it, and work the plan daily. They give barely even a glance at the past because their eyes are fixed on their goals.
