Part of what proves to be so interesting about the South is the variety of options that are available. For those who are seeking something urban, it's available. Those who want to be as far away from their hectic modern lives can find laid back towns and communities that seem impossibly far away. Those who make the choice to call South Carolina home will find that both options - and most everything in between - will be available.

Take for example Dataw Island. Dataw Island, secluded but very near the rich cultural centers of South Carolina, offers residents a chance to realize that having it all is more than just a fantasy; life on Dataw Island offers residents the chance to have a little bit of everything that they are looking for.

On Dataw Island, those who are looking for an ideal home will find an ideal community. After passing through Gatehouse into the community - a gatehouse that is staffed 24 hours a day, every day year round - residents will find themselves amidst a lush landscape or salt marshes and tidal creeks.

It's not just nature and natural beauty that are to be found on Dataw Island though. For those who want their lives to include time spent working and playing in addition to relaxing, the community is ideal.

The business focused will appreciate the convenience of the Business Center - along with easy access to faxing and copying. The fitness focused will find that the Fitness Center offers state of the art equipment, multipurpose use space, swimming pools and rooms for aerobics and other activities.

Of course, if you enjoy combining business and fitness - or if you just believe that the best deals are made on the golf course - you'll find that Dataw Island is ready to accommodate your style. With two championship courses from which to choose, it's possible to enjoy completely different games of golf, each offering its own challenges.

After a round of golf, the clubhouse is there to welcome you - whether you're ready to talk about that great shot you had, straight down the fairway or you're looking to drown your sorrows after a round that had you spending more time in the rough than on the greens and fairways - with a pub and sports bar, a great seating area that overlooks the salt marshes and more.

Sit back and relax, push yourself in the gym or in the pool, conduct a business deal or head out onto the open water, you'll find that Dataw Island offers all of the opportunities that you're looking for - and then some. Why settle for a community that offers one or two things that you're interested in but not the others? At Dataw Island, you won't have to settle, you'll find that everything is right there waiting for you.
