High visibility clothing is a type of personal protective equipment (PPE), it is basically a clothing which has high reflective properties or a color which is easily distinguishable from any background.

These garments become more visible in the dark and can be clearly observed by people standing near the light source, and in the daytime very bright colors are used for the main body of the garment, and for this purpose a fluorescent material is used. A good example of high visibility clothing is the head gear mounted mirrors, in dangerous conditions. They aid in increasing the visibility of the wearer and thus making it safer for them.

It safeguards against most types of hazards like cuts, nuclear, biological and chemical hazards, high voltages and static electricity and other types of harsh effects covering stab wounds, explosions, abrasion, ballistic, fire and extreme heat, dust and particles. Against ballistic conditions also, these special fabrics provide protection, and act as a bulletproof vest and is vastly used in defense by the paramilitary and the armed forces.

So workplaces are fraught with risks and thus require extra protection, so it is advisable and sensible too to keep yourself protected by wearing these high visibility clothing.
