There are a few differences between a high definition TV set and a standard TV set. The first thing you will notice is the shape of the screen on the high definition TV set. Its alot wider than the standard TV set. Its what you cant see that makes the big difference in high definition TV. The high definition TV set has over one thousand vertical lines of resolution and that is twice the number that your standard TV set has.

So the picture you will be watching in high definition, will be twice as precise and articulated than the picture on a standard TV set. So high definition is not just some gimmick or smoke and mirrors. Some people who watch high definition for the first time are amazed at the difference it makes in the total veiwing experience.

For sports and music programming, high definition can and will, bring you alot more closer to the action. The sound quality plays a big role in the high definition experience. Digitized surround sound, that incorporates Dolby noise reduction technology, means you will have CD quality surround sound, that sounds great right out of the TV set. Ran through a custom speaker system though, it sounds fantastic.

Think of all the money you will save when you have your own home entertainment system that can do all the things a high definition Hughes satellite receiver can do. An automatic search feature lets you find the program you are looking for, by entering it in by name or even the name of an actor in the movie or program and press the button and it apears right on your screen, just like that.

Press the record button on your remote and it is automatically set to record when it comes on, even if you are away when it comes on.
