Finding the right car rental company is not a very easy task. There are a lot of different angles to look at. There are questions that arise like is the car going to run into any problems on your trip, how expensive is this, and is the company trustable? This article will help you determine which car rental company is legit and the best one to deal with.

A very important thing that you have to find out is what special terms and conditions come with renting from them. Obviously, you have to be old enough to drive and have a license but some places require an older age so the driver is more "mature". Also, some places require a credit check, actually a lot of places do this. There are other types of terms that the company may have that you may want to look into.

Whoever is going to drive the car should have a clean record. A lot of rental companies will say no to anyone who has car related fines and charges. Whether it be speeding tickets, driving under the influence, or maybe even driving without a seatbelt on.

Another major issue with renting a car is the form of payment for the cash deposit. Of course, many car rental companies want to assure that their vehicle will return safely, therefore they require a cash deposit. The downside to this is that many places don't accept cash deposits and require a credit card deposit. Like previously stated, a credit check may be done so you may not even be allowed to rent a car from their company.

Determine what size vehicle you need to rent. This will be a big factor in the total price, not just for the rental but the gas too. This is usually determine by how many people are with you, where you are traveling to, what luggage you have, what type of land the vehicle will be driving on, and etc. For example, city driving you may prefer a small car, and you may even want a small car for the highway.

Determine your budget for the rental fees. The fees that the company charges changes a lot between companies so researching the competition can definitely help. Some companies even offer special deals like weekend packages where it's only $30 a day + gas for the whole weekend.

If the top prices are around the same amount then you would also want to compare the quality, figuring out which service is better. Make sure you know what type of car you want to rent as well, the model, year, etc.

However, the biggest determining factor is usually how much money you have in your pocket but you are not always guaranteed the top quality service and vehicle for those few saved pennies and paying a little more may be worth it in the long run. The most important thing to do is compare the companies.
