The result to that question is amazingly, not as difficult as you think. If you stick to these 5 standard tips then your traffic generation efforts will be much more effective.

The first principle method is to create useful subject matter that provides something useful to your viewers. If there is no meat or substance to your message people will not come. Along with making useful subject matter you will need to update the site with fresh useful content daily if you can. Search engine spiders rank your website higher and more often if you update daily.

The second method is article writing and submission. Any article directory you can find you should submit to. These articles must be produced with the same effort and purpose that your content was made with. These articles should:

1. Create trust and credibility for you and your site

2. Get clicks on your link in the resource box at the end of your articles.

3. Have articles good enough that people will want to link to them and therefore back to your site.

So article quality is very important, take some time and write good useful articles.

The third method is to start posting in discussion forums. choose forums with a high page rank if possible that are related to your topic. Remember to include a signature with a link back to your site on all your posts. You must do this often for it to be affective.

The fourth method is to take advantage of social bookmarking sites like Digg.com and Technorati. Bookmark the pages on your site and then if people like them they will bookmark them. This is a great viral method for building free targeted traffic.

The fifth method to grow high quality targeted traffic to your affiliate marketing site is constantly continue to follow the steps outlined above. To generate quality free targeted traffic you need to be patient and work hard. You can't put in work for a little while and quit and think your site will be a success.
