So the next time you hit the road, don't be satisfied with just having a reliable pick-up as advertised by the dealership, find time as well to ensure that the service tires of that pick-up are geared for the outdoors say the snow and ice if you expect to thread this road surface. If you are planning to shop for your winter Dunlop tires, you need to be aware of the industry standards as set by the American tire manufacturers and the Rubber Manufacturers Association.

These two groups have established the definitions and rules as to what tires can be considered as the tires best for winter or best for use on snow and ice. These two organizations have set forth criteria based on the thread pattern, the construction and the materials. When shopping for these Dunlop tires, you need to be aware of the fact that the winter tires are different compared to the current tires that carry the M&S designations.

To get the best Dunlop products match for your trusted pick-up, you need to check out the designation or the logo on these tires. If you already have these kinds of season tires, make sure that you are aware of its capabilities for safety reasons. You need to remember that tires tagged under this category will provide your service pick-up with improved snow and ice traction as compared to the all-around and all-season tires. This means that when you need to purchase these tires in set of four and install all four tires. This is a suggested move so as to enforce proper handling balance on snow and ice and to maintain better handling too on roads and highways.

There are other safety notes that you may want to check out if you plan to install winter-focused tires:

- Make sure that you don't mix the snow /winter tires with the other tires of different construction, size, ply rating and pattern type.

- Match the performance ratings of the original tires, or you can check out the vehicle manual for suggested replacement options.

The makers of Dunlop tires for winter/snow surfaces suggest that a complete set of tires should be mounted on your pick-up. Never mix and match high traction and low traction tires as this set-up can compromise safety on and off the road during cornering and braking on the ice. Driving your pick-up should be safe at all times, and you can make it possible by thinking of the right tires for the right surfaces.
