That's the number of returns on a search where a video can 'easily' be ranked on Page 1. Video marketing is made for local search.



300,000 has been found to be a good rule of thumb for 'dominating' a keyword phrase; in other words, getting more than 1 listing. The four thumbnail listings I got for one of my client, was for a search term of under 200,000 returns. So, video marketing is ideal for local searches.

But, I have consistently had videos rank on Page 1, even when the returns were significantly greater

For example, I had received a Page1 listing within 2 hours, and the returns were just under 5 million. Right now, for a different search term, I have another 2 listings on Page 1, with a return of 127 Million. It can happen. Of course, as is usual with search engine optimization, a lot depends on proper keywords, and how well the other sites are optimized. But videos are moved to the front of the line...rapidly.

The average internet user is performing 35 searches daily; (Did you use a phone book 35 times...last month?) more and more people are simply employing Google to find things. Not surprising, with so many people sitting at computers all day, it's natural for them to do a quick search for anything. And, if they see several listings on Page 1 for the same company, and if they then see some thumbnail images next to that listing, wouldn't they likely click on that listing first?

People LOVE to watch videos. And the search engines love videos also, and index them faster, and rank videos higher than websites.

But you can't just submit a video to YouTube, and have it pop up on Page 1 the next day. The video still must have its Title, Description, and Keywords optimized. And the video must then be submitted to multiple video sharing sites.

Remember, though, that just because you submit a video to multiple sites, you aren't guaranteed a top listing. You still have to properly 'optimize' that video.
