Coat hooks were once just a mundane feature in many homes and businesses, but today they can add elegance and distinctiveness to any room. Large coat hooks are available in various designs, colors, and shapes to create the look and feel you want in your home or office. They are not only practical for hanging coats and/or hats; large coat hooks can be matched to other decor accessories as well as the colors and overall feel of a room.

Coat hooks are also space savers as they can be added along a wall in any room you choose or in a hallway or foyer. They take up less room than a full standing coat rack, and you can install as many coat hooks as needed for your family size or the number of people in your office.

Styles of Large Coat Hooks

As you shop for the perfect coat hooks, you'll see many styles and colors to choose from, including brass coat hooks, chrome hooks, and bronze hooks. There are also a variety of shapes such as the 3-D shaped hook, which has several sections in a 3-D-like form to hang multiple coats in layers from top to bottom. These come in handy if you have limited space but need coat hooks for several jackets. Another popular style is the swivel coat hook, which is set on a hinge to allow the hooks to swing around to the right or left. Swivel coat hooks make it easy to position coats according to their size or bulkiness.

Traditional coat hooks have a simple yet elegant look and work wonderfully for fancy or antique style decor. If you need numerous coat hooks, you can opt for the bespoke coat rack featuring multiple hooks hanging horizontally on a rectangular platform. The bespoke coat rack can include any style of large coat hooks, from brass to bronze to 3-D to swivel - whatever fits your needs. You can also buy coat racks with a shelf above for added storage on your wall. Hang your coat hooks near a lovely painting or wall sconce for added effect.

To really spiff up your room or office decor, you might want the brass coat hook with beautiful, round china knobs. These come in an elegant rope shape or with a doughnut hook. Keep in mind that large coat hooks can also be used to make your own coat stand if you prefer a stand-up rack. You can customize your coat rack to fit your decor and to allow for the number of people that will use the rack.

Where to Hang Coat Hooks

Coat hooks can be installed directly into a wall, inside an armoire or closet, on a door, or on a wall-mounted or freestanding rack. If you want to hide your hooks from guests, install them inside a closet door or armoire in your bedroom. Perhaps you have a hall closet near your home or office entrance. This would be a good place for a few coat hooks. In an office setting, you can install coat hooks near the entrance of the main building or inside the office. Or, you might install one large coat hook in each cubicle for employees. It's really a matter of preference and space.

Shopping for Large Coat Hooks

Shopping for coat hooks is now easier than ever using the Web. You can compare coat hooks by looking at the photos, reading about their features and sizing, and browsing the variety of styles at a retailer website. While looking around, be sure to choose strong coat hooks made of real metals, preferably steel. Plastic coat hooks might look great to start with, but may not last very long. Choose strong materials and the size needed for your available space.

Look for a company with reasonable shipping rates and affordable prices (without sacrificing quality). Large coat hooks vary in price according to the size, style, and material. They range anywhere from $3.00 to $20 per hook.
