First of all, do the alternate knee-in. Lie on the floor, your legs extended out in front of you. Make sure it is about three inches off the floor. Place your palms under your back and flat out on the floor. Use your elbows to support yourself. Bend at the knee, and bring your left knee close to your left shoulder, flexing your stomach muscles while doing so. Afterwards, straighten your left leg, while trying to bend your right knee and bringing it closer to your right shoulder. Continue with this cycling movement for 15 repetitions per side, totaling to 30 reps per set.
The alternate twisting crunch, which is one of the many effective love handle exercises, should be done after the alternate knee-in. To perform this exercise, lie on your back, and position your hands behind your head. Raise your head a few inches off the ground. Bend your knees, and position the soles of your feet flat out on the floor. Lift your left knee off the floor, and twist your torso so your left knee and right elbow meets at the center. It is important to do this step while flexing your abs. Return to starting position, and perform the same steps on the other side of your body. Perform 15 repetitions per side, totaling to 30 reps per set.
Afterwards, do the last exercise of this regimen, which is the double-arm reverse row. Stand straight with your feet apart at shoulder-width. Hold a 3-pound dumbbell at each hand, with palms directed away from your body. Bend until your trunk is parallel to the floor. Extend your arms downward so they can touch the upper-thigh and knee area. Flex your muscles as you do so, and raise your dumbbells upward and to about 6 inches from the side of your body. Then, flex your back and return to starting position. Make sure you feel the back stretch. Do this exercise for 10 reps, take a breather for 15 seconds, and perform the entire set again.
To fully maximize the belly burn, do 15 reps of the alternate knee-in, and 15 reps of the alternate twisting crunch. Immediately after these two love handle exercises, perform 10 reps of the double-arm dumbbell row with the help of 3-pound weights. Rest for 15 seconds, and perform the exercises for three sets. Remember to observe proper body mechanics so the exercises can properly work on your love handles.
