It's disappointing from the point of view that what should have been an advertisement for marriage and family life and a role model for the younger generation, has been shattered.



The divorce and ending of this high profile marriage is not totally unexpected, as the pressure of living in the celebrity goldfish bowl, and the fact that you have two highly egotistical personalities each trying to maintain their status in the celebrity success ladder, and at the same time attempting to maintain a happy family life while living apart most of the time, must sure take its toll.

Unfortunately, what both Madonna and Guy hope will be an amicable and painless break-up of their marriage will inevitably become a media circus. The vultures from the media, the smart divorce lawyers and the host of other parasites with a vested financial interest will make sure of that.

You would think that with all the money and property that they enjoy it would be easy to come to some amicable arrangement, but it seems greed and ego make such people live their lives in a very different was from the rest of us.

However, if these so-called “celebrities” choose to live the way they do, then I reckon they get the results that they deserve and will possibly even enjoy the publicity of the divorce proceedings.

It is such a shame that ordinary people, who strive to keep their marriage together, but through the trials and vicissitudes of life reach a point where they decide to divorce and go their separate ways, don't have the help and support that Madonna will receive.

For the ordinary married couple marriage break up and divorce is traumatic and devastating, usually leaving both parties in social, financial and psychological difficulties.

Unlike the celebrities that we constantly read about in the press and see on our television screens, the ordinary married couple usually have little or no money to pay for professional help and advice and often continue to live in a miserable marriage.

The wealthy celebrities seem to be able to change partners at a whim and often appear more upset at losing some figures from their bank balance than actually severing the ties with someone with whom they were at one time supposedly very much in love.

One thing that differs with the ordinary couple is that they do seem to make every effort to stay together and to rekindle the dying embers of their marriage. This may be of course, due to lack of finance to pursue full divorce proceedings.

Unfortunately the lack of finance also may prevent them from seeking the necessary help and advice that can often help greatly in resolving the situation. The problem is often made worse by the shame that ordinary people may feel when they reach the stage of marriage break up and so the proper help is not sought.

Proper counselling and advice can make such a difference, but couples have to admit to the world at large that they are experiencing major marital problems before going out to seek help

However, in today's modern technological and Internet world there is a tremendous amount of help, advice and tips on how best to cope with the traumas of divorce and more importantly, how to keep your marriage together and continue family life with renewed enthusiasm.
