Collecting autographs of famous people has always been a great hobby for many people. Film stars and sportsmen are the royal targets swarmed by thousands of fans, some for the sake of seeing him or her and others for collecting a valuable piece of the celebrity's autograph. However, there is no fixed guarantee that you will be gifted with one such autograph. Some crazy fans even travel with the stars only to gain one single line from them. Some believe that getting a signature or a line form a sports star is easier than from a movie celebrity. This is because the former is perhaps a bit more approachable and comes out in public more often than their silver screen counterparts.

In recent times, survey has shown that the market for signed sports gears in baseball, cricket, soccer, lawn tennis, golf, etc. is high on demand. Most people collect these things for the sheer love of it. However, there are great business opportunities in this field as well. Many people have started their own business concerns collecting such singed things form your favorite sportsman and sportswomen. Then they resell such stuff in highly competitive auctions. Such auctions also take place over the internet. Infact, the rise of such auction sites is a noticeable fact.

The problem with most of these online auction sites is that it is immensely difficult to verify the authenticity of the autographed article. In a recent survey, it was established that a shirt worn by the legendary soccer player, Pele was reportedly sold at a million dollars. Again, another by the famous Mark McGwire also cost a fortune! With such high demand, which surpasses supply by many miles, the selling and reselling of fake signed articles are also increasing. Most fake ones are so well created that only an expert can make out the difference. Most people are duped into buying that fake stuff because for nonprofessionals it is nearly impossible to know the difference. However, in this situation you can still trust AutographFinder.
