When you are planning an expansion of your business, one of the biggest temptations is to sacrifice your storage space in order to achieve more room for a larger production area. All too often, the storage room is considered to be wasted space, but this can be a long term problem, because if you are not able to stock enough raw materials or finished products within your factory or industrial unit, you will be necessarily limited in terms of the volume of production that you can achieve. By extending upwards rather than sideways proves cost effective by installing a mezzanine storage platform.

There are a number of huge advantages of extending your usable space upwards with a mezzanine storage platform. Firstly, the cost of creating space on a split level mezzanine is much lower than extending outwards and creating an additional building. The additional space is within your existing building, and simply takes advantage of the unused space above the floor. The costs are much lower than they would be for constructing a similar amount of room outside the building.

A mezzanine storage platform is a great way of creating usable space without impacting on the amount of available room at ground level. The footprint of the structure is minimal, consisting of just a small number of pillars that are bolted into the floor in order to support the weight of the platform. High quality steel is used throughout the construction of the Mezzanine, so that it can support whatever weight you need to place on it without any concerns about its strength.

The biggest advantages offered by a steel mezzanine storage platforms over any of the alternatives available are that the actual cost of installation are relatively low, and the actual work to construct the platform can be carried out extremely quickly. The basic platform and pillars can be raised in a matter of hours rather than days, and any additional walls or barriers will not take much time to add on to the construction later.

Depending on what you need to store on top of the mezzanine, it will be necessary to build a stair case or lift, or rely on a forklift, and issues with accessibility can mean that gaining access to heavier items on the storage level can be tricky, so it is advisable to only use the area for storage of manageable items.

Thanks to the modular construction of a mezzanine storage platform, the unit is very flexible, and easy to manage. You just need to specify the size and scale of the platform, and the panels and other components will be prefabricated off site, and delivered to you ready to install. Thanks to the fact that the components are delivered in a finished condition, there is very little mess within the area while the work is being carried out. You can even specify additional components such as electric lights to be profited into the mezzanine before delivery so that workers underneath the unit still have access to everything that they need in order to carry out their tasks.

Thanks to the ease of construction, the relatively low cost, and of course, the fact that the units are custom designed to your specifications, a mezzanine storage platforms takes advantage of the space that you are not currently using in order to help you to develop your business.
