Nothing beats a soft breeze wafting your cheek on a muggy day. That is the allure of ceiling fans. While air conditioning is a marvelous thing, there is something relaxing about the lulling spin of a ceiling fan. It seems to invite you to slow down and rest a spell. Fans are found everywhere now-on porches, in bathrooms, on restaurant patios-they make hot places pleasant on all but the hottest days. Handsome fans grace the finest living rooms in the country.

There are lots of styles available to coordinate with any design scheme. Minka Aire makes fans for any setting, from exceptionally unique to traditional. With dozens of styles from which to choose, there is something for every home. To many, fans are seen as a decorative item. If you want to add immediate character to a room-even a tiny room-add a ceiling fan. For safety, just make sure the fan is suspended at least seven feet above the floor and eighteen inches from the wall! You do not want to invite trouble!

From the romantic to the high tech, fans complement a all types of decors. Brass, wrought iron, cast aluminum, and rich woods feature prominently. If you like a sleek, spare style, you might want to look at the Supra 52 with a choice of brushed steel blades or the Flyte ceiling fan featuring three slender blades and state of the art technology. For something modern, the Artemis features slim-lined, uniquely contoured blades.

For a more romantic look, there are many choices, as well. One that immediately jumps out is the Adare, which looks as if it might have been at home in a turn of the century apothecary. With a dark bronze body, dark walnut blades, uplight, and four candelabra lights, it definitely sets a mood! Another mood setter is the Las Islas. With fleur-de-lis detailing and a lush tropical feel, the oversize blades are evocative of palm leaves. Similarly, the indoor-outdoor Gauguin transports the dreamer in you to the islands.

There is nothing like the feel of the relaxing breeze of a ceiling fan. Functional and pretty, a stylish ceiling fan adds to the comfort of any space.
