Various folk tales brought about the uncanny Halloween motif and tradition, but nowadays, further aesthetic value signifies this October 31 holiday. People wear ghoulish costumes to imitate a story wherein the townspeople did so to frighten away spirits wanting to possess bodies, as their only hope for the afterlife. Trick or Treating originated from a Christian custom where people beg for "soul cakes". Each cake corresponds to a prayer they must recite so that the donor's dead relative may enter heaven. People in many countries continue to celebrate this event with a modified approach. Trick or Treat is the most common practice in which participating house owners adorn their abode's facade and give candies. Otherwise, the small children threaten to commit a minor prank on them.
