Power Options Not Working

    View:
Many working moms struggle with the day-to-day grind of the workweek. While many may enjoy their jobs, they may not enjoy the ritual of waking up early, getting the kids ready, only to drop them off at daycare. Oftentimes, a large portion of their paycheck goes straight to the people who are caring for their children during the day.

If you're a mom who is not happy with your situation, there are alternatives for you to explore. Not all of them are going to suit your needs but you might find a couple that you should investigate further.

Part Time Jobs

While those who are on a tight budget might not be able to afford this option, others may want to question what their current employer offers. You also have to consider the type of job you're in and if it lends itself to being a part-time gig.

If your current employer is not willing to accommodate a part-time position, then start looking for other positions that might be more flexible. However, because you have history with them, your current company is your best bet.

Telecommuting Jobs

Even though this is still not the ‘norm', more and more companies are allowing workers to telecommute. Again, this arrangement works best with your present employer because you have built up trust. However, there are many companies now who are looking strictly for telecommuters and there are sites out there that can help you make those connections.

There are a number of different arrangements for telecommuting that are possible. There are those situations where you are allowed to telecommute 100% of the time because the employer is not local. Other time, you work 2-3 days at home, and the other days in the office. You still get face time with your employer but you also get more time with your children. Ideally, when you do work at home, you can work the hours you want, but it doesn't always work out that way.

Virtual Assistant Work

Becoming a virtual assistant can be a very rewarding experience. You basically work as an assistant for other businesses doing a variety of work, but many times, you're not even in the same state. Some responsibilities can include working on websites, submitting articles to directories, Internet research and many other tasks. If you're lucky, you can team up with someone who is willing to teach you new skills…and pay you at the same time.

Ghostwriting Profession

Ghostwriting is basically writing articles, blog posts, etc., for someone else and that person receiving the credit. You do not own the work and you are hired as a freelance writer. This is something you might want to look into if you enjoy writing and are skilled at it. These writers are in demand with website owners and you can make a pretty good living at it. Be prepared to conduct research on topics that you are unfamiliar with and get ready for criticism.

If you're not happy with your work situation, you do have the power to change it. Arm yourself with the knowledge and confidence that you can be a happy and fulfilled working mom – whether you choose to work inside or outside your own home.

Maximizing Your Colors and Paper Options

Printing companies will give you a lot of options when printing your invitations. Take careful consideration of each specification as they will say a lot about the whole tone of your invitations.

1.Printing Colors: The printer will give you a choice of having your invitations printed in full colors on both sides, full color on one side and black back, or full color on one side and blank back. The choice of colors though is left to your discretion and can vary from just four color to spot color and paper stocks.

2.Events that advertise fun should take full advantage of colors and go for high contrast lively tones. Formal events on the other hand should go for restrained colors from the same color family, or simply have one or two colors.

3.Paper Color: Standard cards are printed on bright-white paper to make the colors of the ink come out. On the other hand, if you are not too keen on full color illustrations, you can use different colored paper to liven up your card.

4.Paper Stock: You can request for special paper from your printing company. Although you can simply choose to print full colors on the card to give it color. Special papers, remember, must be calibrated so make sure your printer knows your paper stock of choice well.

5.Papers too can come in different texture. Some have a greater surface area which can make your prints duller yet still elegant in appeal. Others have lines or columns that will acts as a simple and subtle detail.

6.Paper finish: With regards to finishing, there are three you should be familiar with: Aqueous coating, UV coating also known as high-gloss, and matte. The AQ or gloss coating comes at no additional charges. This is a good choice for most standard cards.

7.High gloss or UV coating is glossier and more durable. It has the feel of plastic laminate and is more resistant to fading and smudges or finger prints. This can be used to give your event a younger non-traditional feel.

8.Like the UV coating, the Matte coating comes with an extra charge. The Matte finish has a more natural paper texture and has a dull effect. This gives your prints a more restrained and sophisticated feel that will fit a more mature audience or a more traditional event.

9.Paper Size: You can vary the size of your cards depending on the impact you want to create, or the amount of information you want to include. Standard sizes come in six options: the 4.25x6, 5x7, 5.5x8, 6x9, and 6x11.

10.Formal cards are ideally printed on 4.25x6 or the 5x7 sizes, depending on the amount of information that needs to be placed. These are the more common sizes you can fit in most standard envelopes.

11.The larger sized cards can be used with more flexibility. The 5.5x 8, 6x9, and 6x11 cards can be used for business invitations of product launching events. They have more space that will allow you to include your advertisements and marketing material. You can also include a tear here area for coupons, ticket stubs, reply slip, etc.

Make sure your event gets the buzz and the attendance it deserves. Create invitations that will entice the guest to put on their party clothes and make a beeline to your venue.
