While many cell phone companies are finding new ways to increase their income, usually by finding ways to add costs to their phone plans, one company is taking a different approach in lowering prices, doing away with contracts and growing their service areas to provide low cost cell phone service across the nation.

With many phone plans when you agree to keep that carrier for anywhere from one or two years you can have the phone for free, with Cricket plans, when you buy the phone the first month of service is free, but there is no contract to sign. No signed agreement to stick with the company for a year or more. The decision to leave will be yours, but when you can find a plan that offers unlimited calling, no long distance charges, no charge for information and no charge for text and picture messaging, the decision to leave may be a tough one to make.

With many phone makes and models to choose from, finding one that fits your lifestyle should make the decision an easy one to make, and with no service contract it can usually be used on any other service to which you may decide to switch. However, when signing a contact with another company, there is usually a heft fee for ending the contract early. Even if some unfortunate circumstance makes the cell phone unaffordable, you still pay for the completion of the contract terms.
