LTO standardization is maintained by an organization called CVE (Compliance Verification Entity). Certification test of CVE has been passed by the TDK's 4th generation LTO D2407-LTO4 tape. TDK LTO-4 tape products were first shipped in mid of 2007. Tape media products of TDK provide remarkable and unmatchable storage results. TDK carefully engineered the LTO4 tape format and it became the first tape of the world that passed the strict testing by Compliance Verification Entity. TDK D2407-LTO4 tape is ideal for today's large capacity and high speed servers.

The data volume has increased tremendously with the growth of digital networks in terms of its complexity and scope. That is why the demand has increased over the years for faster storage mediums with greater capacities. TDK LTO4 has greater capacity of 800 gigabytes with 1.6TB in compressed mode. Its transfer rate is also very fast, native 120 MB/s and compressed 240 MB/sec. TDK D2407-LTO4 tape is ideal for today's large capacity and high speed servers. Greater capacity is achieved in the LTO4 data cartridge with tape width of 12.65 mm and recording tracks quantity of 896. The quantity of data tracks in LTO1; LTO2 & LTO-3 are 384, 512 and 704 respectively. Reduced tape thickness of TDK LTO4 tape media allows more tape reel to be incorporated into the tape cartridge.

Advanced and durable magnetic material is used in TDK D2407-LTO4 tape the leverages the longstanding expertise of TDK in manufacturing the other recording media and LTO tape products. Read & write signals in TDK LTO-4 tape are highly stable. TDK D2407-LTO4 comprises of super-finavinx metal particles. Magnetic layer's thickness is made even through out the tape length by using dual-layer coating technique. High precision signals are recorded by the special servo-writers. Leader pin has been included in the TDK LTO-4 that elevates the performance. All these latest technologies assist the TDK D2407-LTO4 tape to meet requirements of today's enterprises. Finavinx metal material used in TDK LTO4 format increases output. This tape format has a strong base film with remarkable dimensional stability and ultra smooth surface. The output is stabilized by the ultra thin coating mechanism. 2 new binder types, Three Dimensional Compound (TDC) and Electron Beam Curing (EB) are used in TDK ultrium-4 tape to optimize its performance level. A strong and robust molecular structure is created within the coatings of lower and upper layer of tape by these binders. So the error rate also reduces.

Accurate reading and recording in TDK LTO4 tape is ensured by the new servo signal technology. Seamless interaction between the tape drive and media is enabled by the high precision cartridge technique. WORM technique is also incorporated in the TDK LTO4 tape. This feature dose not allows alterations, and protects the recorded information. The recording capacity of TDK LTO 4 tape is 800 gigabytes and in the compressed mode, it can hold 1.6TB data. Careful process control of TDK helps in maintaining high quality and smooth surface for best and cost effective operations of tape drive during work load.
