Planning a summer holiday can be an easy task, but at the same time it can be difficult, it really all depends on what you need and want to get out of your summer holiday.  The first step in planning your summer holiday is not necessarily to choose a destination, but to choose the scenery.  Would you like to go camping in the woods, sailing on the water, or be relaxing at the beach? The things that you want to do on your holiday are vital to the selecting the perfect summer holiday destination.

Does riding a rollercoaster, sailing on the water, or relaxing at the beach all sound exciting?  If each of these activities offers you excitement, you may have a difficult time narrowing down your search to just one destination.  To decide on the perfect holiday destination, you are encouraged to research a number of popular holiday “hotspots.”

Information and travel brochures can easily be found or ordered online, most UK areas having some form of presence. Major cities like London and Manchester will have many sites showing you what is on offer, these being backed up by the websites of major attractions like Alton Towers etc.  So once you’ve decided whether it’s a country destination or the bright lights of a city (for culture or entertainment) you are interested in you can research a number of alternatives and choose the one you want well in advance.

It is likely that you already have a number of popular summer holiday destinations off the top of your head, and here I’d encourage you to perform a standard internet search on each of these destinations.  You may also want to order a number of brochures or information leaflets and again if time begins to press it is important to remember that it may take a few weeks for your data to arrive.

As previously mentioned, it is likely that you may know of a number of popular holiday destinations, but if not try asking around, you can then check any that sound interesting on the web very quickly.  You never know what holiday ideas you could get just by speaking to friend, family member, or someone at work.

If you and your family are interested in a simple holiday, you could holiday near to an amusement park. There are a number of amusement parks located across the UK, these often being close to other interesting areas or a beach, so not only can you get all the “fun of the fair” but also some quality family time by the seaside or walking through the lovely British countryside and having a picnic.

If a holiday on a beach is more your style, then the first thing I’d do is to find all the best sandy beaches in the UK. You’d be surprised where some are, many even today being virtually unknown and far from crowded even on the hottest of days. Remember to consider the issue of dogs though, as many beaches are off limits in the summer months, which is either good news or bad depending if you have a pet dog.

It is easy to see that you have an unlimited number of options when it comes to choosing a summer holiday in the UK, so taking the time to seriously consider each destination will be time worth spent.

One thing that you’ll always going to need is somewhere to stay, most people choosing hotels or guest houses, and here as ever the web can help. May I suggest that one great place to start is <---****HYPERLINK****--->"http://www.hotelshopuk.com">www.hotelshopuk.com, they have a great range of hotels throughout the UK, all at very reasonable rates. Better still if you have left it a bit late, they’ll be sure to be able to find you a last minute deal.

Good luck in your research and do have a happy holiday.
School Summer Holiday Dates
TheBritish are a hard-working crowd putting in long hours and often many commutinglong distances making the working day and week even longer. It's not surprisingthen how much we all look forward to a summer holiday and the opportunity toget away from it all for a short while.

Yet 2008has seen a number of unpleasant changes to the economy that are having animpact on everyone's cash flow. UKhouseholds are having to cope with increasing costs of not one, but many, essentials. Food bills are on the increase, gas and electricity bills keeprising and petrol costs seem to be spiralling out of control.

To keepup with the cost of living many will be tightening the purse strings withtreats and non-essentials being cut out to ensure there's enough money to payfor the week's groceries. As such the much looked-forward to overseas holidaymay also be under threat.

Since thearrival of cheap overseas package holidays the promise of two weeks ofguaranteed sunshine has been tempting Brits to pack their summer clothes andhop on a flight. Yet in 2008 these holidays may not been quite as good value asthe glossy brochure promises. Those who booked early are being charged extra bytrusted travel agents to cover the costs put upon them from other parties andthe Euro exchange rate is making things worse.

Add tothis the flights and you have another headache altogether. On top of theenvironmental impact of flying, massive fuel surcharges are being added on whatseems like an almost daily basis making long haul flights to destinations suchas the USAa very doubtful option.

Yet afantastic summer holiday doesn't need to be in Spainor Florida. The UKholiday market is alive and well, with a fantastic range of options forcouples, families and groups who will enjoy a great summer break without thechore of flights.

There aremany fantastic and surprising destinations in small but hugely varied ?Great?Britain and in this uncertain climate the British public should perhaps makethe best of what is essentially on their doorstep. The UK has woken upto the diversity of scenery, its rich history, traditional food and newstandards of accommodation.

From thestunning scenery of the Lake District and rolling hills of Kent - the undisputed Gardenof England to the buzzing holidayresorts of Blackpool and Great Yarmouth, thereis truly a destination for everyone. Tourism businesses have worked hard tocreate the right product for their customers and a summer holiday in the UK nowhas a positive association, particularly with holidaymakers getting a feel goodfactor thrown in for free ? no flights means a lower carbon footprint.

Forfamilies a summer holiday at one of the UK?s modern holiday parks is aterrific option. The old reputation of ?Glamorous Granny? and ?Knobbly Knees?competitions are long gone and instead replaced by high-quality entertainment, varied facilities for daytime activities and wide ranging accommodationchoices. A great example of a modern holiday park is Potters Leisure Resort onthe Norfolkcoast.

Atraditional holiday park, they have adapted their holidays to cater for a newbreed of holidaymaker. They offer many summer break packages, with childrenspecifically in mind while the beaches are a just a short distance away alongwith many other attractions and places to visit such as Norwich and the Norfolk Broads.

Sodespite all of the challenges of the current economic climate, a summer holidayis still possible if you put aside your preconceptions and embrace the idea ofholidaying in the UK.To find out more about holidaying at Potters Leisure Resort visit our website.

PottersLeisure Resort on the Norfolk and Suffolk coast offers asuperb range of UKBreaks, adapting the holidays to cater for all groups and ages. For moreinformation about Potters Leisure Resort, visit at Pottersholidays.com.
