If you the tool doesn't fit the bill for you or it fails or even if you change your mind in the first 30 days, they will take it back. Sometimes tools will have a defect and the manufacture will recall them and replace the bad part and sell them as a reconditioned tool. Many times, reconditioned tools may have never even have been used.

What if they break?

Most reconditioned tools come with a one year warranty. This may be something to consider as many new tools now come with a 3 year warranty. Still good quality reconditioned tools should give you just as much service as a new tool would. Also if you see a new tool advertised at a unusually low price, make sure you ask the seller specifically if this is a reconditioned tool or not.
