There isn't any music in the new machine and there is little or even no electric power in the new machine, either. It seems that from the 4th generation of Apple, there is no charger with new machine that should be bought separately. It is better to use up the little power first and then recharge it for fully 12hours at the first three times. Sometimes it will be refilled in several hours but for new machine, it is better to recharge it longer, in the similar way of Mobile Phone. Some customers might not have charger. It also can be recharged through computer, but there are some disadvantages. For instance, It is troublesome that they should turn on the computer and also what they get is virtual power, which means that you should recharge for a very long time. Meanwhile, some customers use up all power, and then forget to recharge it in time without using it for half a month. When they want to use it, it cannot be turned on. Even if you don't use it, it also consumes a little power. It is in the similar way that you usually take out the batteries when we don't use the torchlight in our daily life. It is certain that the Apple machine cannot be opened. If so, you should recharge it with charger and activate it.
Apple is touch mode. When you listen to music or watch movies, the middle key could be Enter, "Menu" could be "Back". The circle beside is touch mode. When you listen to the music, touch the circle around after pressing the middle key to turn up or down, and then press the middle key again to speed the music with touching the circle. The keys on the left and right are for the former or the next music or photo. The bottom one is for stop, also for switching off (pressing it for 3s). The top one on the machine is for locking (HOLD). When you turn on the machine, unlock it first. When you listen to music, you also can lock it. Till now, the basic operation has been finished.
Then it is to download music. You need the software named iTunes which can be downloaded in the official webpage. You can set up it on your computer and shortcut in your desk. The latest iTunes is 7.0.2. Compared with 7.0.1, the compatibility with Windows is more perfect. From 7.0.0, click your "iPod" tag to set the function of managing by hand. In the previous versions, you should right click and there is "iPod" where you can set the "manage by hand". Mine is 7.0.1. First you should set up iTunes without which you cannot listen to music, look at photos and watch movie. If you copy them directly, it just can be used as a movable hard disk. When you turn it on, you can't find the music and listen to it.
After you set up the software, open the file on the left top of the software and it will show "Add your file into the database" or "Add folders into the database". The former one is for one single song or more, and the last one is for the all music in the whole folder. Of course you can use "import" (personal habit). This step is for import the music in your computer to iTunes, but we still haven't finished putting it into the iPod. Connect your Apple MP3, MP4 with your computer, and then an icon of iPod will appear in iTunes. (The names are different for each person.) Now click the icon, and you will find there is an abstract on the left of the iTunes page, and then click "manage by hand". Now you can drag the music to your iPod by hand, and it will recover automatically. And you also can delete the music in the iPod or iTunes by directly right click the music delete. Another method is to update automatically. That is to make the songs in your iPod and iTunes synchronous. To be synchronous is to have the same songs in the iTunes. If you have the music you like in your iPod but no in iTunes, the music will be gone once synchronized, which is the disadvantages of "Automatic Update". The process of downloading movie is the same as music. Apple can support three forms, MP4, MOV, and M4V. If other forms, the third software is needed.
The Best Mp3 Player
I don't know about you but, I never really got into the whole iPod deal. I never really understood what the big deal was between an Apple iPod or an Mp3 player, I mean really what is the difference! I see none where I'm standing! I had a friend a few months that got one of those really tiny Apple iPods, ya it held like 500 songs but the buttons were so small you had to tap the keys with the tip of a pen to switch songs, or turn up the volume! I mean, was that the allure? Because it's small and it fits in your pocket? Weird. What I did get into though was Mp3 players, these are nicer, badder, and more awesome than those puny iPods! And you don't need a pen tip to change the song either! Personally I bought a Cowon D2, it got terrific reviews, its sleek, it fits in my pocket, I can put thousands of songs on it, the quality is outstanding and I have been happy with it ever since I got it!
Another terrific Mp3 player, however, is one called Arcos 500951 605, this one has a nice big screen so you don't have to squint in order to watch the movies you put on the player, crystal clear screen it actually has the highest screen Resolution (800x480) and the highest quality screen in a Portable Media Player (PMP). Use the touch-screen to easily operate the device with your finger or stylus. Fabulous sound and it's huge, you can upload 40,000 photos, 2,000 songs or 5 movies or a little bit of everything. And lastly? The price? It's the ultimate package for less than $200. Awesome!
A second one I had heard a lot of great things about was called Philips GoGear SA9200 2GB. This one is quite simple but it still does what its supposed to and it does it well! Enjoy total control of your music and photos instantly, thanks to a super-smart, super-responsive menu. Switch on your GoGear and marvel at how it comes to life to reveal a vibrant, full-colored LCD. 2 GB capacity for up to 1,000 songs or up to 500 pictures, So i'ts not as large as the Cowon or the Arcos but remember you CAN delete and add new songs/pictures to your player, and you can do it quite easily.
And lastly here is one I bought for my mom its called the Virtual Touch VT-2, it''s a touch screen media player. But the reason I got this for my mom was because she doesn't have young eyes like she used to (sorry mom) so she either has to put her glasses on or squint. She loves watching movies so I figured hey, I may as well get her one of these as a surprise. It's big enough for her space wise at 2GB it holds about two movies (4 hours altogether) and the screen is 3 inches and has a nice resolution as well. She loves it, I love it, she loves me. Hey what else could I ask for!
Of course there are 5 zillion other ones out there including the puny Apple iPods but these are ones I have either heard rave reviews about or that I have had personal experience with. Good luck in your search for the perfect Mp3 player!
