Last Sunday, I've been looking over the web to find some offerings to promote my website. I found so many offerings available costing me from $2 to $200 to submit website to directories, blogs and other places, what concerns me most is that are there real or link farming, I signed a few of them and most of them were powered by robots and no real human to submit my website.

The lesson I learnt in the last few days which I would like to share with others who would like to submit their website is as follows:

1.Always seek for pre-submission evaluation: This means is your website eligible in directories where it is going to be submitted.

2.Seek for human based submission and detailed report: Submissions done manually are far more effective than done by robots.

3.Checkout the submission list : Many times it happens that the suggested URL where the site is going to be submitted is expired and in passage of time, entire list of submission gets obsolete

4.Resubmission: Some also offers to resubmit the website old and new directories, as they keep on updating the list of directories and remove those which are obsolete.

5.Report : Check the report properly, try to login and see some of the entries and ensure that the work is done properly, if anything is wrong, contact immediately to rectify the issue

Overall Website submission services works best if done with proper planning and to the right spots, there are many places to submit the websites, some of them are directories, local search, video submission sites, product search engines, social bookmarking, article submission, RSS submission, Podcast, Blog submission and more.

Don't think anything is cheap or expensive; confirm it before a purchase is made.
