Acne is a skin condition that over 80% of people have to endure at some point in their lives. Acne is most prominent in the troublesome teenage years. One of the main reasons why acne is so bothersome is because of the scarring. Scarring can also be treated and prevented by consultation with a dermatologist.

Teenagers may have low self-esteem and confidence issues with the development of acne. Some are even severely depressed because of peer pressure and teasing. What these teens need to realize is that acne is a part of youth. And more importantly, it is a passing phase. Acne normally clears up by the age of 20-25.
