What Causes Vertigo And Dizziness?

    View:
Mot of us take the ability to stand upright for granted. In fact, we can stand still without needing to hold on to something for support.

Thanks to our balance system, healthy people can do these things.

However, not everyone's systemic balance allows for the ability to walk with ease. Vertigo or dizziness are terms used to describe the effects of the impaired balance system. Though these feelings have differences, I will use the terms interchangably since the root cause is the same.

Everyone has experienced some form of dizziness or vertigo. Perhaps an ear infection left you wobbly on your feet. Or, you've suddenly jumped up from a sitting position very quickly and felt the need to sit right back down.

Luckily for most people it is only a temporary situation that quickly blows over and no solution needs to be sought.

There are people who don't have the luxury of knowing the feeling is temporary. They will be afflicted with chronic vertigo or dizziness every few months or even every day.

This kind of chronic vertigo/dizziness is caused by problems with the balance system.

Our three balance systems are located in the

eyes ears body sense

Even if one of these systems is adversely affected, we can still continue to function.

We need to exercise all three sytems though, because we are not so fortunate when more than one of our balance systems is experiencing problems.

So how do we strengthen our balance system?

You see, 90% of the time, dizziness and vertigo are caused by tension in the muscles around our balance system - the eyes, the ears or the body line from the top of our skull to the pelvic bone.

For example if you have tension in the eye muscles, then your eye's balance system conceives the world in just a tiny bit different way than your ear's balance system does.

The brain is then trying to process a variation of information coming from the two perceptions. This results in a dizzy feeling.

If your reading glasses are not the right strength, you've probably experienced this.

A perfectly functioning balance system in the ears and body would help you continue functioning when the eyes are not up to par. However, normally, dizziness still occurs because it just is not likely that both of the other systems will be in perfect balance.

The solution is to strengthen and loosen up all muscles around all your balance systems - as well as strengthening your body's balance awareness.

Vertigo and dizziness can be diminished though without achieving perfection in all three balance systems. All three functioning at 70% is enough to sustain an overall good quality of life with regard to balance. My vertigo and dizziness program accomplishes this.
