If you don't use your phone all that much, you're probably paying way more than you need to. If you've looked around at rate plans from most of the providers, you know it's difficult to find a rate plan for less than $39.99 a month. By the time you pay all the fees and taxes, you're paying more than $500 a year for your cell phone. That's outrageous!
But I recently found out about a great way to cut your bill. Someone told me, "Get T-Mobile To Go prepaid service. If you're willing to pay for a block of 1,000 minutes ($100.00), it comes out to 10 cents/minute and the block of minutes is good for a full year. (The balance can even roll over if you buy another block of 1000 minutes before the 12 months expire.) That's the equivalent to a cell phone plan for $8.33/month, and it has nationwide calling!"
What I really like about this plan is that there aren't any extra fees or over-the-limit penalties!
And he also said "You can transfer your existing number to the prepaid service, and you may be able to use your existing cell phone, especially if you are with T-Mobile or Cingular already. Otherwise, you can buy a new cell phone with some prepaid minutes starting at $39.99, if you purchase it at a store such as Target. The last time I checked prepaid cell phone services, T-Mobile To Go, is significantly less expensive than any other plan out there (if you read the fine print, especially the prepaid expiration clauses)."
Again, the only drawback here is if you're a heavy user. I pay $39.99/month for 1,000 minutes with Cingular. It's more than I'd like to pay, but I'm on my cell phone all the time. So $100 for the 1,000 minutes, which I would use in a month or so is a lot for me to pay.
However, my wife's plan is $29.99/month for 250 minutes. And she uses only a fraction of her minutes. So we're paying about $400/year (after fees and taxes) for a lot minutes we don't use. Compare that to the $100/year on the prepaid plan. Needless to say, we're looking into the T-Mobile To Go plan. Perhaps you should too.
Where My Cell Phone
And today, the mobile industry is taking another whole new level. You can take a look at Apple’s new device that will set a trend with the way mobile phones are manufactured and how people are going to use them. This phone is called the iPhone. It basically permits you to perform virtually each task you can accomplish in your computer, without the annoyance brought by a computer desk. In fact, because it’s so loaded with so many interesting features, you may even forget that it should be primarily used as a mobile phone too.
Enjoy bigger screen size. No more squinting of the eyes. You can now enjoy its 3.5-inch megascreen, which allows you to view messages very clearly.
Get rid of stylus and keypads. Did you ever feel like your fingers are hurting because of hard-to-press keypads? How about losing that stylus you use for your PDA? Well, with an iPhone, there’s no more use of those. After all, the phone doesn’t promote them at all. It takes pride, however, on its virtual keyboard that appears every time you try to perform a function. Moreover, the keyboard is based on the QWERTY keyboard of PCs. So it’s just like writing messages and setting appointments via very small computer. Moreover, it’s equipped with its own spelling checker. There’s hardly any room for any spelling errors.
Bring SexyBack and Heroes in your phone. Perhaps you have a mobile phone for necessity and iPod for luxury. With an iPhone, you can just opt not to use the one of the other anymore. The phone is your ultimate entertainment gadget—a great mix of a cellular phone and an iPod. All you have to do is download some media files from reputable sites such as on iTunes, and then upload them in your phone. You can enjoy some cool time with your favorite music, movie, and TV show. What’s more, iPhone accepts wide range of audio and video formats. Not only can you settle for files in MP3 form, you can also listen to anything that is in MP4 or MPEG formats. If they’re not in correct forms, however, you can always use any standard file converters available online.
Goodbye to boring long voice messages. It can sometimes be irritating to hear almost-endless phone calls from people you even don’t want to listen to. The iPhone understands your predicament and introduces the selective voice messaging system. Think of an e-mail in a voice mail form. This means you can select the voice messages and simply ignore the others.
Iphone means “no limits." And for us mobile users all we can do is sit back and watch as other mobile manufacturers will take a hint and release their own versions of Apple’s newest innovative product. Indeed, iPhone is reshaping mobile history.
