Wuthering Heights Chapter 9

    View:
The Old Testament Verses from 1-10 are talking about God blessed Noah and his sons and established His covenant with them. God commanded not to eat flesh containing blood in it.

The New Testament Verses from 1-10 are talking about Jesus healing a man sick of the palsy and the Jewish scribes said within themselves that Jesus blasphemes.

The Noble Quran Verses (from 1-10) put the law of dealing with the Pagans. If they get an advantage over you, they respect not in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from) their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and most of them are rebellious and wicked. They have sold the Signs of Allah for a miserable price, and they have hindered from His way: evil indeed are the deeds they have done. In a Believer they respect not the ties either of kinship or of covenant! It is they who have transgressed all bounds. The Pagans cannot frustrate Allah. Allah will cover with shame those who reject Him (at the Day of Judgment).

Old Testament:

Chapter nine in the Old Testament is Genesis 9; it is composed of 29 verses.

Verses from 1-10 are talking about God blessed Noah and his sons and established His covenant with them. God commanded not to eat flesh containing blood in it.

Genesis 9 (King James Version)

1) And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

2) And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

3) Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

4) But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

5) And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

6) Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

7) And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

8) And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

9) And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

10) And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

New Testament

Chapter nine in the New Testament is Matthew 9; it is composed of 38 verses.

Verses from 1-10 are talking about the Jesus healing a man sick of the palsy and the Jewish scribes said within themselves that Jesus blasphemes.

Matthew 9 (King James Version)

1) And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.

2) And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

3) And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.

4) And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

5) For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?

6) But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

7) And he arose, and departed to his house.

8) But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

9) And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

10) And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

The Noble Quran:

Chapter nine in the Noble Quran is composed of 114 verses.

Verses (from 1-10) put the law of dealing with the Pagans.

[1] A (declaration) of immunity from Allah and His Messenger, to those of the Pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances.

[2] Go ye, then, for four months, backwards and forwards, (as ye will), throughout the land, but know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah (by your falsehood) but that Allah will cover with shame those who reject Him.

[3] And an announcement from Allah and His Messenger, to the people (assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage - that Allah and His Messenger dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith.

[4] (But the treaties are) not dissolved with those Pagans with whom ye have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided anyone against you. So fulfil your engagements with them to the end of their term: for Allah loveth the righteous.

[5] But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[6] If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure. That is because they are men without knowledge.

[7] How can there be a league, before Allah and His Messenger, with the Pagans, except those with whom ye made a treaty near the Sacred Mosque? As long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for Allah doth love the righteous.

[8] How (can there be such a league), seeing that if they get an advantage over you, they respect not in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from) their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and most of them are rebellious and wicked.

[9] The Signs of Allah have they sold for a miserable price, and (many) have they hindered from His way: evil indeed are the deeds they have done.

[10] In a Believer they respect not the ties either of kinship or of covenant! It is they who have transgressed all bounds.
