Ok, maybe that title has been overplayed a bit. It seems like everywhere you look, there is someone telling you that you can "Fire your boss and work from home!" But the great truth to this is more and more people are finding countless wonderful opportunities to make money online. Though few of these will really allow you to quit your regular day job, many are perfect for making a little extra income to supplement your regular salary. The great thing about internet based jobs is that the range of jobs is so vast that practically anyone can find a business that suits their interests. In this article I will show you a few of the realistic options for making extra income from home.

If writing is something you have a knack for and/or have always had an interest in doing for pay, writing articles is a great option. There is always a huge demand for well written content on the internet. Website owners always need a constant flow of new content to rank well with search engines and channel visitors to their websites. And they are willing to pay for it. Supply and demand at work! You have several choices for getting in to this market. The most common is to get an account with a freelancer job board and check out the listings. Site owners will post their job needs on these boards and freelancers will bid for the job. Content-specific websites will also allow you to post your related writings, and webmasters will then purchase them directly from the site.

If you have no care for writing, don't worry because you have plenty of options. If you are the creative-minded type, check out the T-shirt and crafts websites. There are many sites that will allow you to use Photoshop or other graphics programs to create designs and logos, which you can have printed on a variety of products, from T-shirts to Frisbees to dog clothes. Most of these sites take a pretty sizable chunk of each sale, but they are covering all of the costs of production, so it is only fair.

And now what "work from home" article would be complete without mentioning auction sites? There is endless documentation available about making money using these sites, so much so that I would be wasting my breath to attempt to scratch the surface of the topic in this article. If you want to get started using this method, find junk around the house that you wouldn't mind getting rid of. Rather than trying to have a garage sale, post them on the auction sites and see what happens. You will probably be pleasantly surprised with the results. If you find you enjoy the process, read up on tips, trick, and strategies used by those who are already successful at it and follow in their steps.

The internet is in a constant state of flux and there are always new opportunities for those looking to make money working from home. If the three options in this article do not interest you, don't worry because there are countless other avenues available. If you can't find something that fits your interests, nothing is stopping you from coming up with your own. This is the beauty of the internet. If you have a great idea, go ahead and jump in and see what happens! Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
