Ever since the end of the nineteenth century balloons have been a popular decoration. There are now thousands of outlets to buy balloons and they look set to remain a common fixture for years to come. Balloons come all different colors, shapes and sizes. They have a variety of uses from weddings to International events.



Latex balloons seem to be the most common and are widely available from suppliers. They can be plain, patterned, metallic and even printed with names or ages on them. Balloons have a firm place in helping create great atmosphere whether it be for a Christening, Baby shower or a leaving bash. Modeling balloons have become very fashionable and are a great addition to any Fete or children's party. It takes a lot of patience and dedication to be able to shape and model a balloon.

The helium balloon has become very popular and can be filled with the gas Helium for a canister. The canister can be bought, or some suppliers will hire refillable tanks out. Most helium balloons have a foil case but you can have the standard Latex type. You have to beware of Helium balloons as they can float away if you let them go!

It is now possible to accessorize your balloons further than the standard string or ribbon at the end. Balloon weights are now available which help to keep the balloon firmly on the ground. Cups that hold the balloon onto a stick are also becoming more popular too.

The biggest balloon available has to be the hot air balloon. It is a great experience to sit below an air balloon in a basket and soar into the sky. This is a wonderful way to view the amazing landscape from high above. The length of a hot air balloon trip can vary from half an hour to a whole day. Popularity for hot air balloon races and trips is growing, but this can be an expensive hobby or treat.
