They can show that although Peter was sent to bed without supper it did not mean that he was unloved quite the opposite. It is often easier to understand this looking from the outside at someone who very clearly made a mistake. Here again one can see in “Ben Bunny" Peter being pressured into something he is afraid to do by his cousin. One can use this as an opportunity to discuss this mistake with children and the potential consequences of being pressured into doing something wrong.
