Do you have a committee to help you or are you doing it on your own? How many people are you expecting? You can plan on an average of about 1.5 times the number of employees you have on staff. Next you will want to find a date. I recommend putting together a choice of 3 dates and then sending them out to the executives and management team. You want to be sure as many of the managers and executives as possible can attend. Now you need to find a venue and secure your date. Before you can do this you have a decision to make, what type of party do you want this to be? Are you looking for an event that is purely enjoyment for your employees and their families with very little employee interaction or are you interested in building community, team and morale with in your business? I recommend that you use the event as an investment in your employees. Your company is spending the money it might as well benefit the company and its productivity. If you want pure entertainment for your employees you will want to choose a Theme Park with rides and attractions. If you want to build your team and encourage employees to get to know each other in a different light, then the best choice is going to be an ?Old Fashion? picnic. ?Old Fashion Picnics? promote mingling, conversation and interaction among your employees. In this type of setting people will automatically talk to people they might not normally talk to and also people will introduce their families to one another. This gives everyone a better understanding of their coworkers and develops a deeper connection which can foster better, more cohesive working environments.

Your menu is a very important piece of the picnic puzzle. Good food can make or break the event. People really appreciate a good meal. Most of your facilities will have their own caterer or have a couple that they recommend Good establishments will have an event planner to help you with those details and the rest of the details from here on out. Pick out a menu that sounds like it will accommodate the majority of your employees. Be sure to consider your vegetarians and make sure there is something special for them. It is nice to have a variety of salads, meats, sodas, and alcoholic beverages for everyone to choose from.

At this point all you really need to do is promote the party and hand out tickets. It is suggested that you place flyers and posters throughout your work place to entice attendees to your Corporate Event or Team Building activity.

If you have chosen a reputable location with a competent staff you will be able to relax and enjoy the day of the event just as though you are a guest!
