Fun Shapes Craft Foam Magnets



You will need:

Craft foam (different colors, to your preference)

Non-toxic glue

Magnet sheets

Safety scissors

Begin by cutting the craft foam into shapes that you like. You can make animals, or traditional shapes or even letters.

Once you have some shapes you like, it is time to glue on the details that you would like to add to them. If it is an animal, you might want to glue on spots or eyes. If it is a shape, you might want to add a smaller shape. Add your own special touches and be creative about your magnets.

Tip: remember to make your magnets small – less than three inches square to get the best results

Allow your project to fully dry. This could take an hour or up to an afternoon depending on how heavy your project is.

Now that your project is dry, you can add the magnet sheet to the back. Most magnet sheets have self-adhesive on the back, it sticks quite well. This part you may want to ask a parent to do, it can be a little tricky to get it just right. Measure the craft foam project and make your magnet shape just a little smaller than the craft foam project. Then cut the magnet out. Then take off the backing and add it to the craft foam project. You're done! Stick it on the refrigerator and enjoy!

Butterfly Headband

You will need:

Colored construction paper

A stapler

Safety scissors

Colored markers or crayons

Non-toxic glue

For this project begin by having a parent or adult measure the size of the child's head to create a headband. Then make a thick strip of construction paper, about three inches wide in any color that you like that will go all around the head. For this project we suggest using green construction paper. Staple it together.

Now it is time to make the butterflies. Fold a piece of paper together and lightly trace the half of a butterfly on it. Then cut it out. Repeat this process until you have at least six butterflies. Make them in different sizes and colors.

Decorate the butterflies using markers and/or crayons as you like best. Once you have decorated them, glue them onto the headband.

Once the headband is dry, your project is complete!

Apple Print Cards

You will need:

Fresh apples (at least three)

Knife (for parent to use)

Cardstock or cards

Craft paint

Begin by cutting the apples in half (a parent or adult does this). Then dip the apple in paint and press the apple onto the front of the card. It will make an interesting print!

To make this unique, make cuts into the apple, or cut the apple into different shapes. Then make more prints. You can also print on the envelope.

Allow the cards to dry, and then send them to someone special!
