4) Record up to 100 hours or your favorite shows automatically. No more trying to figure out complicated VCR settings or having to reset your VCR after a power outage.

5) All digital storage means no more hassles handling and storing video tapes. Everything's stored on your DVR receiver's hard drive, and you can play your programs with just a push of a button.

6) Name based recoding is a feature that allows you to search DISH Network's satellite TV programs by movie title, show title, or an actor's name. The DVR can then locate that program and automatically record it.

7) Dual tuner receiver allows you to record two programs at the same time, record a program while watching another program, or record two programs while watching another pre-recorded program.

8) Picture-In-Picture (PIP) allows you to watch two live shows at the same time.

If you are concerned about how much video you can record, the recording capacity on the DVR depends on the video format of the programming you wish to record. Here are some guidelines for determining recording capacity:

Analog TV shows:

Midcontinent analog channels are those below 100. Recording capacity is up to 25 hours.

Digital TV shows (compressed):

Midcontinent digital channels are between 100 and 900. Recording capacity is between 30 and 60 hours.

High Definition TV shows (HDTV):

Shows that are broadcast in HD may be recorded in HD format, provided your DVR is connected to a High Definition Television. HD channels are 900 and above. Recording capactiy is up to 15 hours. Recording capacity will vary.

It is a good idea to plan your recordings to no more than 80% of capacity. Your listings display will conveniently tell you the percentage of capacity remaining.
