Sometimes you can't help but check up on what is on your spouse's computer but should you?
Spying on what your spouse does on their PC is not always an indication of obsessive jealousy because there are occasions when it becomes very difficult to ignore the signs that your spouse is up to no good on their computer.
Although you may be worried about what your spouse is up to on their PC does not mean that you are overly jealous but it pays to be wary when they spend lots of time in chat rooms.
You may have heard the stories about chat rooms and online infidelity but there are some highly effective computer programs available that can track almost anything that is entered on a PC and then transmit a report of it secretly via email.
You don't always have to go to the drastic step of installing secret software on your spouse's PC as there are easier methods of discovering exactly what they are doing on their PC.
If you can get access to your spouse's computer then archives which contain a record of all chatroom activity can often be found inside a folder belonging to the chat client software on the hard drive. The user does not always have archiving enabled however, but if it has then the archives can be viewed with freely available programs.
If the chat archives are disabled then another way of discovering what is being said and done in the chat rooms is to install software which will create its own archive of everything that has been typed on the keyboard and even save screenshots of what has been viewed on the computer. This file can then be sent to you via email without your spouse knowing.
If your spouse is reasonably computer literate it could be difficult to install spy software on their computer without them finding out and if they do then things could get a little bit nasty. Although most spy programs are very sophisticated and almost impossible to detect there still remains the remote possibility that someone who is knowledgeable could discover them.
If you do finally discover that your spouse is an online cheat you will then have to decide what to do. It can be embarrassing to confront your spouse with the evidence you have found without leaving yourself open to accusations of spying on them. This can sometimes give them the opportunity to deflect the blame from themselves but the alternative is to let the doubts and suspicions eat away at you and suffer in silence.
However painful it is to discover that your spouse is an online cheat it does not mean the end of the marriage as it can be just a short-lived addiction brought on by a lack of communication between you. In fact it can be a wake-up call and a catalyst of change for the better.
