"If you haven't heard of Nike, you've been living under a rock, likely barefoot! Founded in the mid-sixties, it is now a billion-dollar company that specializes in providing sport wears shoes and apparel. How important can a pair of shoes be, in you overall attire? Well, if you have ever had a good run - or even a long walk - you would know! In 1987, Nike launched the Air Max series of shoes. The far-familiar Nike Air Max is significantly familiar amidst the subversive groups, and they find this Nike shoes as their best choice. There are special functioning and customized Air Max Shoes, where you can find the best quality shoes with dashing colors and unique rich look. For those who come from the older times will remember that a Beatles number was used in its earliest promotions, and this happens to be the only time ever that a Beatles song was used in a commercial.

Even as the Air Max was released, the Nike Dunks were already getting popular. Released two years before the Air Max, the Nike Dunk was an alternative basketball sneaker that was light, and so gave you the comfort you needed to play better! The Dunk launched Nike's ?College Colors? program, which was a promotional effort to get universities involved in an exclusive deal of sponsorship. This worked out extremely well for Nike, as this got popular in many universities, with their teams wearing all varieties of Nike Dunks (there are the low Nike Dunks, mid Nike Dunks and high Nike Dunks - you can find the full range at any official store) in colors that imitated the official team uniforms.

Winding further back in time - in 1984, Nike was looking to reinvent it self as, believe it or not, it didn't have much of a say in the basketball market! It had a ""white jogging shoes for men"" kind of image that needed to change. In a huge marketing effort, Nike released a series of shoes that were endorsed by the legendary Michael Jordan (who wasn't so much of a legend back then!) -this had the desirable effect of turning the industry upside down. If you are an ardent lover of bright and dashing colors, then buying Nike shoes will be a refreshing retreat. Bold colors set the trend for the season, and Nike was calling the shots for what was fashionable - particularly after Jordan did especially well that year.

There is an exclusive line of Air Jordan shoes and Nike Dunks available for women too. The Womens Air Jordans usually feature combination of brighter colors and a softer look. The designs are loosely based on some variety of the regular Air Jordans. The Women's Nike Dunks are very popular too, and are again available in the low, high or medium varieties. Expect brighter and bolder colors here as well!

To keep up with the resurgence of skateboarding (this is over a decade later, in the early 2000's) Nike introduced the Dunk SB, Nike Dunks for skateboarders. The Nike Dunk SB models usually feature what is called a ?Zoom Air? insole and an extra padded tongue, providing maximum comfort and flexibility for skateboarders.
