How To Save A Relationship

    View:
The first step is to address the problem. For many the problem can be evident and obvious, such as a cheating partner, or financial troubles. Other times you must look deeper and go beyond the obvious and put your relationship under a microscope. Many problems can be indirectly caused by small things that you wont see.

Once the problem is identified you must then establish your feelings on the situation. Rationality is what you must strive for here. Problems can and usually will lead to the rise of strong emotions, your do not want to suppress these, but rather have them work in tandem with rationality. By keeping a level head you put yourself in control of your individual situation.

Communication is now what you need to save your relationship. It will act as the main supports that hold your relationship up. As you start talking with you partner keep in mind that they might not see a problem and may become defensive at the notion that your relationship is jeopardy. Be careful during the initial communication process as to not alienate your partner so that they remain open to further discussions which will be the processes which begin to rebuild your relationship.

Now that you've begun the process of saving your relationship by starting lines of communication with your partner, you must keep one thing in mind, you must allow your partner to say what they need to say. Many people may speak harshly and untruthfully, saying things that they do not mean, or that they mean only to hurt someone who they feel has hurt them. While you must keep this understanding towards what they say, do not be nieve to signs of true maliciousness.

Now that your communication is evolving you must begin to attempt to see the situation through the eyes of your partner. You must decide whether or not they see a relationship worth saving. Many times a partner can feel it is easier to end it rather then save it, if you believe this is true you must make them see that this relationship is worth saving by reminding them of what you had, or by starting over with them and building a new relationship.

You can decide which course of action is best by looking at your past. If your relationship has withstood hardships before it is very strong. By reminding your partner of these hardships you can make them see that your relationship has something special. If you are concerned that you don't have this inherent strength you must rebuild by going back to when you first met and bringing up those old emotions to rekindle the fire.

Through all the trials and tribulations of attempting to save a relationship you must always remember to stay level-headed and always communicate clearly. If you can manage that while practicing understanding you can gather the pieces and put your relationship back together.
How To Save A Relationship
Jim works long hours and Liz doesnt feel he is there for her. Liz spends all of her time meeting the need of the children and Jim feels that she doesnt have time left over for him and his needs. Can this relationship be saved? Should it be saved? Heres how to save a relationship.

Each partner in the relationship must decide if it is worth saving. With hard work most relationships can be saved, but the work must be done by both partners. If one partner decides they don't want to try, not much can be done to avoid a split.

f you want to know how to save a relationship, it starts with commitment by both parties. Both have to agree the relationship is worth saving. Not just for the children, or because it is convenient. Those reasons will not bring happiness back into the relationship.

Now you need to focus on the real problems in the relationship. Problems create many symptoms, and it is easy to think the symptoms are the problem. But that is not the case.

For instance, many people think an affair is a problem that causes break ups. In truth, the affair is a symptom of a deeper problem. For instance, a lack of true intimacy can lead to a straying spouse. While most people look at the affair as the problem, the underlying cause of the affair was the lack of intimacy in the primary relationship. If you do not deal with the lack of intimacy, you might be able to keep another affair from starting through the use of guilt, but another problem (for instance pornography) could pop up because you havent dealt with the core issue.

Talk about the core problems together. Hold hands while you talk. Don't make accusations or try to place blame. If both partners realize the purpose of your talks is to strengthen the relationship, there is no need for hurt feelings.

Now its time to work together to solve your problems. Design an action plan and follow it. If your problem is not spending enough time together, agree to spend 20 or 30 minutes each day talking, perhaps before bedtime. If the problem is you don't spend enough time together, designate a date night each week. Take turns deciding new and interesting places to go. Stick to your plan.

Saving a relationship is a process. At times you may feel frustrated, but if you work at it, every time you take a backwards step you will notice you first took two steps forward. It will take patience. Be quick to apologize but slow to blame. You will cry along the way, but you should laugh along the journey, too. This is your relationship! Save it!
