Ideas For Housewarming Party

    View:
Shifting in to a new house is considered among the most exciting events in life. It is ideally the best time to break out the bubbly and celebrate. But at the same time it is stressful enough for somebody to move away from friends and family. It's then it takes time to get adjusted to the new surroundings and the alien ambience. In either case, holding a housewarming party is the best way to welcome new and old friends to the new house. The children of the house also lose the comfort and security of the world they are accustomed to ? be it their private spaces or their more public places, everything including their bedroom, their house, the yard, neighborhood, their school, the local park, the town and so forth undergoes a change. Worst of all, they lose regular contact with their friends and, possibly, aunts, uncles and cousins in the bargain. In addition, they suddenly find themselves the "new kids in town," trying to find their niche in a new community. Thus throwing a housewarming party is the smartest way to ease the transition for the children as well. And in the cases where the move is to a distant location, a housewarming can be used as a way to meet the new community. Finally, family or neighbors bring the housewarming party to the new homeowner as a way of welcoming him.

It's not necessary to wait for the home to be in perfect shape or until everything is unpacked, for the party to be thrown. People understand that it takes a long time to get settled, and they happen to be more curious to see what the house looks like than critical of the naked windows that don't have custom curtains hung yet. The best part is that despite all the busyness regarding the move, a housewarming can be a relatively informal and simple event. The home is the main attraction so it's actually not necessary to plan lots of activities to keep the guests amused. They will be far more interested in touring the house than in playing party games at this time. The only game that might be useful is a simple icebreaker to introduce old friends to new neighbors. In fact, housewarmings are sometimes the only way old neighbors get to see each other with the hectic schedules we all live.

The Housewarming is one of the greatest rituals of all time-a tradition where friends, family, and neighbors help us celebrate a new beginning. There are some crucial variables to a successful housewarming: good people, good food and lots of laughter. It doesn't matter if there are five or fifty friends celebrating the move; the sounds of their laughter and the host will warm every room and transform a house into a real ?home?.

Now, while it is not really important for a housewarming party to be a formal one that takes a great deal of the pressure off, because the guests won't expect more than a good time out by the grill with something to drink and eating supper off paper plates. But there are certain things that have to be taken care of such as the guest list, the invitation, the food, and the outside preparations.

It's better if the guest list is made to be a manageable one. The invitations should also be sent right in time so that nobody misses the occasion. Since guests will be walking about and inspecting the new home during the housewarming party, this is an ideal situation for casual, finger foods. Different choices can be served in each different room. Then, as they discover the rooms, there will be edible surprises as well. Special party decorations are actually unnecessary at such parties, as does possibly detract the features of the new home. And finally it is very important to take the guests out on a housewarming tour around the house to introduce them to the all new features of the house.

House warming gifts do not have to be expensive or anything like that; they can just be something that will help the new family get settled in until they have unpacked everything into their new home. House warming gifts are always being handed out to new neighbors as a sign of friendship, you are in effect holding out your hand and saying shakes it if we are friends. Sometimes people may be too busy to even notice that there are any new neighbors in at all. But if they see a house warming party invitation on the door mat then that's a pretty good indication for them indicating that they have new neighbors.

Thus to conclude in a nutshell, a housewarming party is the best way to commute a house into a home. It does not only bring the old friends back, but also gives an occasion to bring the old close to the new ones. So one should always stand by their near ones to commemorate their move to a new place. To add to that many ecard companies such as 123greetings.com and myfamilyecards.com also offer amazing ecards wishing their friends and family a happy housewarming and housewarming invitation cards as well.
Ideas For Housewarming Party
A new home is exciting on a number of levels, of course, but one of the nicest bonuses is that buying a new home affords a perfect excuse to throw a party. Then, especially if you haven't entertained in a long time, it's possible that your housewarming party will rekindle your desire to have guests over on a regular basis for friendly gatherings.

It doesn't take a lot of capital to throw your first party. In fact, a housewarming party can be very informal, because by definition, you've just moved in and haven't gotten completely settled into your new home. That takes a great deal of the pressure off, because your guests won't expect more than a good time out by the grill with something to drink and eating supper off paper plates. That type of gathering isn't going to strain the budget much.

Guest List

Keep your initial guest list manageable, and make sure the people you're inviting have enough in common to be able to mingle comfortably. It's best to invite folks who already know each other. A guest list of about a dozen is your best bet for your first attempt at throwing a party.

Invitations

Give everyone a couple weeks' notice. You can print up invitations if you'd like. They're not expensive anymore, and can easily be done on any home computer and printer. You might follow up with an email as the day gets closer, to remind everyone. You could also ask them to shoot you back an email to let you know if they're coming. Written invitations usually get a better response than telephone calls.

Clean and Supply

Even if you just moved in, you want to clean your house well and make sure the bathrooms are well stocked with supplies, including toilet paper, soap, and towels. Vacuum the house and furniture, especially if you know that some of your guests are subject to allergies.

Outside Preparations

Before the guests arrive, put your own vehicles into the garage to give everyone lots of parking space. Keep obstacles such as lawn mowers, kids' bikes, and skateboards out of the way to avoid anyone tripping over them. Add some colorful flowers in pots near the front door. For a nighttime party, add some white party lights around the doorway.

Enjoy Your Housewarming Party!

Greet every guest at the door and show them where to put coats and other items. It will also bring them up to speed quickly and comfortably, and let them know you're glad they came. Give them a brief tour of the home, and then show them to where the main section of the gathering will be held. This will help ease them into the swing of things before you turn them loose with those folks who are already there.

As the party goes on, mingle. It's your responsibility as the host to make sure everyone feels welcome and pampered. Move around and ask if your guests need a drink refilled or anything else. But the key is to have fun! If you're having a good time, your guests will probably enjoy themselves, too--and your housewarming party could be the beginning of a whole new era of entertaining in your new home.
