While I don’t think that rowing will be the next spinning as some rowing enthusiasts feel, it is a great exercise and one that fits in well with circuit training and cross training. As alluded to in the article, it provides a far better workout than an elliptical training machine. The latter is not a good way to get into shape. Still, a 50 minute class in rowing seems pretty extreme. Rigorous rowing for 5 or 10 minutes is going to be a lot for most people. Indeed, one can get pretty tired in even one minute of rigorous rowing.
