How To Choose A Lawn Mower – Read Reviews

There are many models of lawn mowers in the market. It is possible to get overwhelmed by the variety. Right from the hand operated walk behinds, to the cordless, to the robo-mower, many varieties are available in electric mowers. Similar varieties are also available in gasoline engine operated mowers too.

When you are in market to purchase a lawn mower, it is possible to get overwhelmed and even bewildered. We will set you on a great course so that intelligent persons like you will be able to make an informed choice.

The Acreages You Mow Is First Step In Selection

The acreages that you mow are the first important criterion in selections. If you mow less than one acre, you might select a hand-operated one. It would be sufficient for your kind of work. You will have a neat and trim lawn and a neat lawn (and fit & trim you as a bonus). When you have the acres and acres of lawn, this choice has to be tossed out as inviable. The battery operated ones and hand operated ones have the advantage of low price, and low floor space. With battery operated ones, you have to be meticulous in charging the batteries as they do not hold a large charge and charging also take lot of time in getting charged.

Electric Or Gas Powered – Review Your Requirement First

If you are a type who cares much about the environment (ideally you should be), you would select an electric one thinking that you are doing your best for your environment.

Nevertheless, if you think a step further you might realize that the amount of pollution you create in the local level might decrease but the overall pollution over the whole country will remain the same, as the pollution at the national level will depend on the energy consumed and the carbon credit that you create.

So while you are right in assuming that you create low pollution by choosing an electric lawn mower, it is only on local level. Reducing the energy consumption and increasing the green coverage around you might be more beneficial in reducing pollution than just choosing the electric lawn mower. So choose carefully.

The electric ones have another disadvantage that you have to feed them with electric power all over the place. This might become another concern in safety of those around you.

Fueling the gasoline engine could become messy. Unless you have the gas station near you house and you can ride the lawn mower, you have to feed it manually.

The Modern Solution - Robotic Lawn Mowers

For large acreages, you might select the robotic lawn mowers. These are convenient, safe silent and complete automatic in operation. You only have to arrange for power supply. Getting electric supply at all points is not difficult if you plan it carefully.

Safety features of the robotic mowers will amaze you. The robotic mowers (or robo-mowers as they are called) can operate in completely safe mode caring for safety of its own and those around you. If a child strays into its path, it will choose a different path. In addition, if it turns turtle it will stop rotating its blades. The safety features and absence of human care or intervention required make it an ideal choice for large tracts of land like a golf course or miles and miles of greens that you have.

Therefore, you can easily see that choosing a lawn mower is not that difficult, as you have thought earlier.
