One disease that can find a place in the anatomy of every living human being is none other than depression. Thankfully it is merciful enough to spare the infants. Being a mental related disorder it is natural that going by the current state of the world the instances of depression are also increasing. There is not one person who has not suffered a low phase in his or her lifespan. Depression and other mental illnesses also find existence in almost every person's life. Even medical reports attest to the fact that depression is one of the most common mental illnesses that has struck the modern men. However, there are people from the medical field who opine that depression is after all not as widespread as it is made out to be. Every mental slump cannot be concluded as mental illness.

This opinion was recently released and supported by a leading psychiatrist of UK named Prof. Gordon Parker. Prof. Parker released this opinion in the British Medical Journal. He also remarked that many of the cases that are diagnosed as depression are not actually clinical cases of depression but normal, mundane, day to day low slumps that every person experiences. However, it doesn't mean that these cases should be overlooked and these people should not consult the doctor. The problem lies in the fact that the doctors declare these cases as depression instantaneously. All the cases that resemble depression need not necessarily be depression. They can be other mental botherations and hence they also have other forms of treatments.

When these patients are given depression cures like anti depressants it is only natural that they won't show much results. Antidepressants have side effects and they should not be had without the disease. But when a person who is going through a mental low is prescribed depression pills, it is natural that there are chances that the person experiences the side effects as he is having the medicine without the disease. According to Prof Parker depression is thus an "over diagnosed" disease. This is the term that he used; it means that depression is not as widespread as it is made out to be. It looks to be very prevalent because many other mental illnesses of lesser magnitude are declared to be depression by the psychiatrists themselves.

In this scheme of things the depression drug makers are having the last laugh. The antidepressants are enjoying unprecedented success. Xanax, one of the many antidepressants that are marketed online is a drug that is particularly very effective for the minor cases of depression. On having the prescription one can buy xanax online. In order to avoid xanax misuse the prescription is a must regardless of where you buy xanax from.
