In its simplest form, a shower seat is a small platform attached to the wall of your shower that you can sit on while showering in order to allow anyone to enjoy the hygiene benefits of a shower rather than a bath even if they have trouble standing for long periods of time.

One of the most important things to consider when buying a shower seat for your bathroom is to pick the one that best suits your needs. A variety of different styles are available to buy, and you should choose carefully to find the best shower seat for you.

The first choice to make is whether you want a shower seat that is permanently available, or one that can be folded away for convenience. If you are looking for a shower seat for a bathroom in a hotel in order to meet with accessibility rules, a fold away shower seat is the ideal choice, because it offers a great deal of flexibility, and does not need to provide inconvenience for people who prefer not to use a shower seat when they bathe.

A number of different styles of shower seat are available to buy, and choosing one that fits in with the general decorative scheme of your bathroom is simple. You can choose a modern style with chrome fittings to provide an attractive focus, or a more traditional wood shower seat that will fit in well with a more rustic style of bathroom.

Fitting a shower seat is best left to a professional. They will be able to ensure that it is securely attached to the wall, and minimize any damage that might be done to expensive tiles if you try and do the job yourself. A professionally fitted shower seat will give years of service and provide you with a much more pleasant experience and give you the opportunity to enjoy your shower even more.
