Have you ever wondered why so many people have custom ringtones on their phones, and why they feel the need for the special answer tunes? There are many great reasons, from popularity to necessity, and for all of the reasons in the middle. As the custom ringer craze reaches the young and old, soon no phone will be without that special caller ringtone.

Have you ever been busy, working away from your phone, and had to stop what you were doing to run to your ringing cell phone (which does not have a custom tune), only to find that it is a telemarketer? With our lives being hectic and fast paced, many are finding it an inconvenience to stop in their tracks to answer the phone when the call is not important. However, caller ringtones solve all of those problems in one fell ring.

While Caller ID was and still is a great invention, caller ringtones for your cell phone provides you with a Caller ID for the ears. With custom tunes, you no longer have to look at your phone in order to see who is calling. Caller ringtones tell you exactly who is on the other line.

With almost every phone on the market, there are different caller tones that either come automatically with the phone service, or there are some that the customer can purchase at an inexpensive cost.

Having caller ringtones allows the customer to pick a unique sound or song for different contacts within their phone list. Each contact within the address list can have a unique tune. The caller ringtone provides an audible notification as to who is on the other end. They are indispensable in making your cell phone benefit your life effectively.

Caller ringtones allow the consumer to know whether or not they need to rush to the phone to take the urgent call, or if they can continue with what they are doing and call that person back at a later time. In fact, you will know exactly who to call back just by the sound on your phone.

Caller ringtones have not only become almost a necessary part of someone's cell phone options, but many consider it ineffective to not have them on a cell phone. In fact, if you listen closely, you will hardly ever hear the original "retro" telephone ring. To hear that noise that would make someone look twice. Now, your caller ringtones not only advise you who is on the other end, but they also describes your personality based on the type of tune that you picked.

While this is just a fad to some, to many custom ringtones are a needed convenience. Caller ringtones were first offered in the fall of 1998 in Finland. Since then, they have grown immensely, and the money that is spent downloading them globally has gone from $91 million in 2003 to $217 million in 2004. Researchers are expecting sales to reach a whopping $724 million by the year 2009.
