As a blogger or website publisher, you have probably heard about the importance of content. You need content for your newsletter, content for your website to keep it fresh, and even more articles if you're selling your own ebooks. Yikes! Now, before you break into a sweat, there are ways to get all of the content that you could possibly need -- without sitting on your bottom for 12 hours each day, typing your little fingers off.



But, first, why is content so important? Here are a few reasons...

First of all, the search engines reward content. They are in the information business, so they reward more quality content with more traffic to your site. That's right. The more information you put on your website, the more they'll send you visitors. (Note, I said "quality" content?)

Second, your readers are looking for quality information. When they land on your website or blog and find it, they'll stick around. Not only that, but they are much more likely to tell their friends, recommend your website on forums, and digg it. You'll have a fan for life.

Third, it establishes you as an expert. By writing articles and sharing content, people will look to you for information. You're reading my article right now for information, right?

So, how do you get content for your website or blog? Basically, when looking for content, you have a few options.

1. Write it yourself. This is a wonderful option for some of your content. You can choose to write some of it yourself. However, there are options below that will enable you to attract quality content to your website without having to write all of it yourself. (Some you can just edit and use.) Using a mixture of the options will provide you with more flexibility to grow without feeling trapped to your PC all day.

2. Hire a Ghostwriter. This is a great option. Simply go to a site like Elance.com, Guru.com or Shelancers.com and you'll find many qualified writers willing to write content for your website. This is highly recommended for article marketing if you don't want to write the articles yourself. Even if you receive the articles and then edit them to add your personality, you'll save a lot of time and effort verses writing all of the content yourself.

3. Team up. Either through networking or word of mouth, find other online business owners who would like to become featured columnists for your site. If they are in a non-competing but related business, you can both benefit from this type of partnership. Your buddy will get exposure and you'll receive unique content.

4. Visit the Article Directories. Check out the popular article directories like ezinearticles.com and freeaffiliatearticles.com for a plethora of articles written by known experts. These articles are available to marketers like you to reprint for free on your site. All you have to do is include the "author bio" which is the blurb at the end with a live link back to their website. As long as you do that, you may use as many of those articles as you'd like.

5. Load up with Private Label Rights (PLR) . PLR content was created to fill a need that we, as website owners have -- the ongoing need for quality content. When you purchase PLR content, you have nearly 100% freedom to use them. You can edit the articles, modify them for your market, create viral reports from them, or even use them to write your first book. The problem is finding quality PLR articles. There is a lot of junk out there. In order to choose a quality PLR site, be sure to find one that has been around for awhile (not some fly-by-night site). Also, check that the articles have been professionally written and edited. Were the articles created specifically for that site or are they recycled from other PLR sites? Once you find a great PLR site, you'll wish that you started sooner.
