There are several reasons why people fail, after all, where the heck do you start? Of the many hundreds of online opportunities out there, which ones can you trust? Do you go for a Franchise? Do you make your own product? Do you act as a middle man and resell other people's products? These all make sense, and can all be very profitable. There are, of course, down sides to each. So lets review them:-
Franchise - you often need to stump up a whole lot of cash to buy your way in. Few people can afford that. Once you are in though, you can end up with your own building, office or shop, managing staff and meeting customers and usually you can expect good support from the head office. So if you have a head for real bricks and mortar business, and have some cash to invest, this can pay off.
Own Product - Well, of course, this is the ideal scenario for many, create your own product that the world has just been waiting for, market it, sell it and retire to Barbados. The problem with this is, how on earth do you come up with a viable product that actually has the potential to earn enough money to replace your day job income. Even if you can overcome this, issues of stock control, quality control and setting and meeting customer expectations become major issues that you'd need to deal with.
Resell Other People's Products - Well for me, this is the best option for those with little experience of starting a business. It has a very low setup cost, you need very little if any experience, plus it is a low-risk option, meaning you can start it up without having to invest thousands of dollars or quitting your job. Most often, people doing this online start by investing a couple of hours a day after work, slowly building up this business, until the revenue starts to come in, then they can begin to think about quitting their day job. A common pitfall here, however, is that the Web is full of over-hyped expectations of how much you can earn in any given timeframe, which tends to make people frustrated if it doesn't happen for them in the short term. Any business worth while, takes time to build up, and unless you have thousands of dollars to invest in advertizing, this type of business is no different,
So Making The Switch to working at home is possible, and you can go for the higher risk strategies, or opt for reselling other people's products, and taking a cut each time you make a sale, without having to stock product or invest heavily yourself.

Work From Home Making Jewelry
Many of you moms out there, might be considering a "Work from Home" job to start making money online. If you're interested in building your own business, you're not alone. It can be a daunting task when searching for the right fit with so many home based businesses to choose from, so I've included four tips that I hope will shed some light on your options. If you're interested in becoming a work at home mom, it all starts by changing your mind-set. Once you set your mind on your goal, take the steps needed and just make it happen. You will be surprised at how empowering it is to start a new home based business where you call all the shots.
There are so many stay at home moms starting and building a profitable businesses, and very successful one's I might add, from the comfort of their own home.
Building your own work at home business is very achievable, but before you start you might want to consider these four topics or tips:
1. Setting a Goal
2. Do The Research
3. Make a Choice
4. Be Consistent
Setting a Goal:
First of all it is extremely important to know why you want to work at home and the second is after you realize why, it is important to set a goal for yourself. Some people will even put up a dream board and put together a mission statement. Doing this will help keep you focused and on track. I believe that thoughts are things so you will want to see, taste, smell, feel and see your future in the exact way you desire it to be.
Do Your Research:
If you plan on becoming involved with an online company begin your research today. Find companies that you are interested in and do a search on Ezines or Google then read articles written about them. Find out exactly what they have to offer and you won't fall prey to the work at home mom scams. Work at home forums are a great place to do research and interact with others looking to work at home as well. When doing my research, years ago, I looked for companies that had cutting edge product, a good track record of payments, excellent customer support and step-by-step guidance on how to be successful working at home.
Make a Choice:
There are basically two ways to go when considering working on the Internet. One is a lower rate of pay as far as online jobs are concerned like type at home, data entry, and telephone jobs. These can be good if your goal is to have some extra cash each month. Then there are home based businesses like affiliate marketing that can be very high paying. Affiliate marketing ranges from $37.00 per sale for each individual product to $1,800 per sale for complete packages. Having been working online for some time now, I find that it takes the same amount of work to advertise a low priced item as it does to advertise a higher ticket item. Finding a program that meets your financial goals is very important to your success.
Be Consistent:
Whatever form of advertising you decide on, whether it is eBay, forums, or article writing, it is vital to be consistent. Please don't think for one second that a person can simply write one article or put an add on Craig's list and like magic thousands will arrive at their site and buy their products. Advertising takes a certain amount of knowledge and definitely consistency. Set your work hours, and more importantly, stick to them. Get things done during a particular time that you have set aside for work, that way you won't feel guilty about spending time with your family or taking some time for yourself. You can feel accomplished and really enjoy yourself because you have completed all of the work that was need to be done that day.
I would just like to conclude here that by having a clear goal, doing the research, being consistent and setting up your own hours and sticking with them you'll start to see tremendous progress in your home based business.
