The hit movie Wanted is available now in a 2 disc special edition DVD for fans to add to their home collections. The movie is based on a comic book series, and is very much like a comic book in a movie form on screen. Wanted has enough blood, vulgarity, and a ton of fun that will give fans a great time while they are watching it.
The premise of the Wanted movie on DVD is that an office worker, James McAvoy, is rounded up by actress Angelina Jolie to join a secret society of assassins. The assassins, however, have various superhuman powers, which gives the movie an amusing twist for fun as well as some action and adventure.
Wanted on DVD is very much suited to be like its comic book origins, and the movie uses quite a bit of computer generated scenes and tons of special effects. Most of the computer generated work is displayed adequately on DVD, although there are a few scenes that do not seem to look very real. The DVD is visually enhanced so that the colors are nice and vivid and the picture is very sharp and nice to watch. The film is supposed to be set in Chicago, but some of the scenes were actually filmed in Prague. The setting for the film seems to suit the movie just fine.
The first disc in the Wanted special edition DVD is the movie itself; the second disc of the collection contains bonus features and a digital copy. Some of the bonus features focus on the special effects and the computer generation work that went into the movie. Information about how they work the special effects and which scenes are computer generated is fun and very eye opening. There is also a featurette on the second disc that is about Wanteds transition from the comic book and novel to the Hollywood film, and many fans have said that the featurette is surprisingly very interesting and a refreshing break from the more usual featurettes of movies that are boring, dull, or non engaging all together.
Also on the Wanted DVD is a stunt featurette that is a lot shorter than many fans would have liked to see. The featurette focuses on one sequence on a train in Chicago. Unfortunately there is no bonus feature that has any deleted scene. There is one extended scene that is presented in the extras, however, and there are also cast interviews that are on the bonus disc.
